Just shotguns. And only for one day. Hugely enjoyable.

I have a lot of mates who've done the South East Asia travelling thing, and were allowed throw grenades at chickens and whatnot. Apparently for US$400 you got to fire a rocket launcher at a cow.

A mate brought me to his gun club to try out his shotgun on those discs that shoot out from a machine, I was crap. Also had a go with a 2.2 on targets, which I enjoyed more and wasn't nearly as crap. Have to say though, the only living thing I'd feel comfortable shooting at is rats. A mate I work with goes hunting and shoots birds, wabbits and deer, I couldn't go there.

    Well, there were

    MAG
    UZI
    FAL
Browning hand gun and M2 .50
    LAW rocket launcher
    Dragon anti tank.

    And a few hand grenades

All of them while in the army as it is not the kind of stuff you should do while going out on a saturday evening.

I was in the Reserve Defence Force for a few years so I got the opportunity to fire guns with them.

    I fired
    Styer AUG
    General Purpose Machine Gun(MAG)
    Universal Self-loading Pistol(HK)

Basically the essential weapons you fire in the Defence Forces. But i've also been on the Gun crew of an EL-70 Bofor as well, and fired that so i count that as well.

In South Africa I got to play with a R5 for a day, on a 1600m range. It's got a short carbine barrel, so hitting anything at 1600m was, shall we say, unlikely. I was much happier at 50m.

No, but I want to. You're not a real man until you fire a gun, wrestle a bear and repeatedly listen to your mother in law saying 'Nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag nag.'

I shot a pistol, shotgun, assault shotgun, rifle, sniper rifle and then a mini-gun.

I did have to active a cheat to get the last one though. Really gave Johnny "Johnny Spaz" Barbosa a hiding :D

The staff and clients of both never batted an eye lid at all the comings and goings of people with these odd shaped bags slung over their shoulders. Only in America !

Could be worse. At least in the US it's customary to put the rifles in bags. In some really crazy countries like in Europe, they just sling the assault rifle over their shoulder. http://bunkerville.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/swiss2.jpg?w=780

I've shot around a dozen different pistols.

Then there is the Steyr AUG, Bren, FN MAG.

Also shot the Ordnance QF 25 pounder (a real GUN) which dated from WW2 and a Ruag mortar.

I really want to shoot an Accuracy International L96.

I could have fired an AK47 when I was in the states but ran out of time over there and my girls friend was busy on the only day we could go to the country side to shoot it.

Shot a 1911 over in Florida two weeks ago.

And that's why if you don't own your own gun you can't rent one without someone with you in most ranges.
