Lost vehicle reg cert, but now in UK

Just checking in case anybody has been in this position before. Recently moved to UK. Have put a deposit on a second-hand car in UK and got a reasonable deal on trading in my Irish reg car. Unfortunately I cannot find the vehicle registration cert now. I know all about the RF134 form and getting a garda to stamp it. Problem is I will have to consider getting a relative to get a garda to stamp it. Too far gone in this pregnancy to fly home to do it myself.
    Any ideas?

I admire your calmness of having your vehicle abroad, driving it, and not having it's registration documents (not only with you, but not at all).
    :)

Probably best bet is to do what you say, but I'm not sure if it's legal.

Maybe contact Irish Embassy in UK and ask them what can you do in such case?

Calm is not the word I would use. Turns out I have every bloody scrap of paper relating to that car including receipts for replacement windscreen and other nonsense. Everything except the one document I need. I have never misplaced it before. Good timing now.
