    I am a female and I have been quite public about my porn watching. I watch much like I watch any other movie; except usually with the volume turned down rather low. Otherwise, I have my favorites and what I avoid. Found a few gems over the year.:D

    I have. I wasn't shocked though. I lost patience with it after a couple of chapters and just ended up scanning the pages for the sex scenes - if you could call them that. They were very softcore, with very vague references to 'throbbing manhood' and 'bosoms'.

    I think while both men and women enjoy porn, men tend to go for graphic where as women tend to go for the subtler forms... what may be termed erotica, perhaps.

    I forgot that English/Irish romance novels can be much more tame than ours. I would quote a passage from a recent novel but I am not sure about copyright laws in Ireland.

    Let's just say that I read one last night where the hero licks his thumb and inserts it in the heroine's bum.

    I read this fictional novel about 'Grace O'Malley' (it was for work - honest) and all I can say is the author needed to do more cold showering and brisk jogging and less contemplating alabaster skin and red hair (he seemed to believe she looked like Nicole Kidman...) as it lay against the dusky skin of a blackamoor prior to performing gymnastic contortions that I find hard to believe are physically impossible in a hammock below decks on the high seas.

    Are there such things as Irish romance novels? Iirc this was American. I would have presumed that most are. Don't get me wrong, it had plenty of insatiable women, it just didn't do it for me. It was boring. Like I said I get the feeling men just tend to prefer more explicit, visual turn-ons than women generally do. I don't think it's a co-incidence that more women buy into this 'erotica' than men do.
