I'm 21 with no leaving cert but an avid interest in Computers and IT. Is their anywhere i can start, Any courses i could do to start me on my way to getting certified? Or is it all too late and the only way really is to go through college? Most courses offered by FAS just seem to be basic and seem like they wouldn't be…

Most courses offered by FAS just seem to be basic and seem like they wouldn't be much help in the long run,

Is your interest in programming or in another area?

It might be useful to say here what experience you have in computing so that others can give some focussed advice.

As regards having no LC, I don't know what to suggest, once you've completed some sort of third level qualification or has gained some relevant work experience, Leaving Cert would not even have to be mentioned on a CV.

I would highly recommend any of the MicroSoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate courses offered by FAS. I cant believe that FAS are offering these courses, they are very expensive if paying for them out of your own pocket.

The're two of the ones i was looking at doing, I wasn't aware FAS were offering them though. Have you a link? I've had a look but can't seem to find them.
