Can you get car nct by arriving on spec

I have 08 so got the nct notice the other week and looked to getting it done asap just to get it done but nothing available.

I am on a week off and wondering if I just dropped down to a nct centre (fonthill or naas) would they put your car through the test or do you need to have it booked in for them to test it.

Must be pre booked. If you're willing to travel call them and see where's available.

Book it asap for any available date and then search for available slots every day.I've done it a few times that way

+1 book any day check for cancellation every day.

Take a chance. go early, bring a book flask and sambos.
If they have a no show they might fit you in, I've done it before, but not recently.
You can check online for cancellations.

Generally your first NCT could be done up to 6 months before due date, so you should have plenty of time.
