Sky hd box and free channels

    Hi all i got a 2nd hand HD box, to us in kitchen i had a old box in there but it broke.

    I used it without the card, plugged out from wall switched back on, i got the UK channel line up.

    I can't seem to get this to work in the HD box for some reason.


    Any one know how to solve this.


    I can get other channels etc in services, but i want BBC1 in channel 101 etc

    There is no way to solve this it seems Sky wanted it this way.


    The new generation of HD boxes remembers the card that was in it and it will not default to the UK EPG without a UK card in it.

    You can get a free to air box and hook it up to the dish.

    You can get an English FTV card that will solve your problem and also give u a couple more channels for free as well such as the sony channel and LFC TV to name but a few. These are available to buy every so often on ebay..
