hope someone can help me out on this one. i know very little about the workings of satellites apart from what i pick up on this forum, some of which i understand.
i have 2 sky plus boxes being fed from a quad lnb. i frequently get the above message and when i check the signal on one of the boxes input 1 signal strength and quality are zero and input 2 signal strength is moving around between 50 and 60 percent. i went to check the signal strength on the 2nd box (perfect) and as soon as i powered it on, a few of the channels on the first box(sky news, bbc news, itv) came back but not the irish ones and after a while the restored channels disappeared as well.
    its neither raining or windy.
is it time to call in the sky serviceman?
    any help would be appreciated.

check all connections make sure they are not loose and are properly screwed in and not rusted.
Dish might need slight re-alligned if your getting 50-60% also
