Health Insurance - first time single man

    Hello
    Haveing never had health insurance before, I am trying to wade through the various health insurance plans and it is so confusing. There does not seem to be a way to check for things I want to be covered for and get a premium that I want
    Do I have to get maternity cover if Im a single man?
    Can I build a cover plan for myself?
    Does anyone know if I can call someone (insurance co. or broker) to talk through my needs and get a suitable plan?
    Any help would be appreciated
