If you fancy a trip uptown, go to PD O'Hurleys on W72, i've been to NY about 10 times and always go there for games. It's a very local pub but very friendly and they do great food.

I'm an occasional fan, but I have found that I will be in Manhattan on Sunday for business, so will be seeking out a good sports bar in around Soho/Tribeca to take in the experience - I won't claim to have any allegiance, but will be watching the fans around me carefully!!

Watching the Giants in the Super Bowl, from a bar in New York, my guess is that you will by the end of the first half.

Ref confirmed as John Parry...for some reason I don't really like him!
Referee John Parry will lead a seven-man crew of game officials for Super Bowl XLVI.

Voting margin is very tight. Hard game to call.

I dont watch the games on BBC so i may be missing something, but there is only one US channel that have the rights to broadcast the Super Bowl each year and this year is on NBC with Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth as commentators,

Anyone else hate watching the studio commentary on Sky. Its painful to watch. If the BBC can show the NBC studio commentary Sunday night why cant sky

What studio commentary are you on about with NBC?! The only studio bit during the game with NBC is at half time! And I'm pretty sure the BBC don't show that, unless that changed last year!

The reason there is so much studio time on Sky is cause they don't show as many ads!

I assumed incorrectly that BBC might. Pity about that!

They will show the half time show! They will not show NBC's half-time analysis, or any SB ad's!

“My sweet friends and family,” the e-mail began. “This sunday will be a really important day in my husband’s life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl . . .
“So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this sunday.
“Thank you for your love and support. Love, G smile.gif

Bad form to post somebody's private email and then try to take the piss out of her.

I thought the email was kinda cool, it kinda reinforces that Giselle is no Yoko Ono who is pretty down to earth and fully supports Tom (as it was reported in the link i posted earlier).

Isn't it just amazing how it was a paper owned by Rupert Murdoch which got hold of somebody's private email? or not....

The mountain I'd go skiing on out here is offering the entrance fee for Monday as the amount of points the Giants score, i.e. Giants score 17,entrance fee is $17! Normal price would be $53

    So sorry guys....I want a game of FG's :D

I don't know who to support in this match. I find both teams so unlikeable (and before anyone asks I hate the northeast). I guess I'll root for the Patriots because they do less of that dumb trash talk that the Giants do.

    SPOILER ALERT!

    http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/02/report-madonnas-super-bowl-halftime-set-list-revealed/

A solid enough set....I've no idea what the new single is like. "Music" is probably a bit of a surprise, but I think its a decent tune. The others are fairly obvious choices.

I'm not getting hugely excited about it, but I'd say she'll do a decent show...there've been a few stinkers over the past few years. Black Eyed Peas, I'm looking at you! :D

    BULL****!! That was rigged!!

Look at how strategically placed the corn on the cob was in the Giants' glass.

Its almost like the guy who owns the porcupine wanted the Giants to win on Sunday. If they win on Sunday, i want a full investigation into the physic powers of Teddy Bar.

Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will ever beat Michael Jackson's Superbowl half time show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

And on the subject of the Rose Bowl, it needs another Superbowl. No better stadium in the country imo.

I've waited 2 weeks but eventually I feel that I've made my choice: Pats to win.

    Why? 3 reasons:

1 - Bill Belichick and Tom Brady to 'find a way'; Pats Offence to beat the Giants Offence.

2 - They would have drilled that defence in the last 2 weeks, they have stepped up before so why not now with 2 weeks coaching and drills.

3 - With all the Giants smack talk my heart has fallen out with Eli's dream win.

I dont buy the whole finding a way stuff

think of Tuck, Joseph, Canty & Pierre Paul harrying an admittedly gifted Oline but Solder, Connolly havent met this intensity this season apart from week 9 and then Umeyioura coming in as relief . Kiwanuka and Co are very strong in the linebacking corps and Webster, Phillips , Rolle and Ross are a very solid secondary . In Nickel packages they use Deon Grant who can play linebacker and safety and Prince Amukamara waits in the wings in case of injury

I think that defense will hurry and harry Brady and i think they will get interceptions .

As for Eli i think he will scramble and the Giants ropey OLine may hold their own . Bradshaw is back and would anyone take the Pats rush attack with 1,000 yrds between two of them versus Bradshaw & jacobs

But i just dont think that Pats secondary can handle Nicks, Manningham Cruz & Ballard

    Remember the personnel

Devin McCourtey : who had a bad season
Kyle Arrington : one bright star
James Ihedigbo : signed off the street after been cast aside by Jets
Sterling Moore : signed off the street after been cast aside by Raiders
    James Chung : talented safety
Julian Edelman : an emergency replacement abused by Anquan Boldin

some of these guys have played strong but the Giants recievers are loaded

if this group break even the Pats can win but can they? and this group may be under pressure whilst Brady is being run around the field and turnovers occur. The Giants have been beating teams on both sides of the ball over the last weeks .

Whatever about the Giants front 4 the Giants defense has its problems especially against the pass. Its funny you are over glorifying their defense to make your point. The Pats played the Ravens and Eagles who have solid pass rushes also and arguably as good pas rushes as the Giants when you combine the front 3/4 with the guys in the box. The Pats beat both of them and showed they can play under pressure.

The Giants secondary however is weak and not New England weak but if that front 4 dont perform or the Pats O-line can give Brady time he will carve them open. They are the 4th worst secondary in the league right now.
I think that defense will hurry and harry Brady and i think they will get interceptions .

    Fair enough
As for Eli i think he will scramble and the Giants ropey OLine may hold their own . Bradshaw is back and would anyone take the Pats rush attack with 1,000 yrds between two of them versus Bradshaw & jacobs

See this is the key and even with the loss of Carter the Pats Pass rush has improved and 8 sacks in the post season has shown that. 5 on Tebow and 3 on Flacco. The Giants only have 1 more. The Pats have the ability to take advantage of that ropey O-line.

Its mad that people keep focusing on the secondary as if they are the only players on the field. The Giants have a poor secondary but yet no one mentions there one because of the front 4.
But i just dont think that Pats secondary can handle Nicks, Manningham Cruz & Ballard

Probably note but this game hinges on Brady not throwing lots and the Pats Pass rush not getting any pressure.

Devin McCourtey : who had a bad season

    Blows hot and cold
Kyle Arrington : one bright star

    Blows hot and cold
James Ihedigbo : signed off the street after been cast aside by Jets

    Awful
Sterling Moore : signed off the street after been cast aside by Raiders

Shows you havent watched much Pats football since Moore came in. Remember that pass dropped in the Endzone by the Ravens? Yeah that wasn't a drop Moore was the one who got his hand in there to force the ball out before the WR got his foot down. Moore has been one of the bright sparks in an ailing defense.
    James Chung : talented safety

Who? Oh you mean Paddy Chung I agree.
Julian Edelman : an emergency replacement abused by Anquan Boldin

    I would agree.
some of these guys have played strong but the Giants recievers are loaded

Again it depends on a lot of factors but yes the WR the Giants have can carve open that secondary but the Pats WR can do the same on the Giants secondary.
if this group break even the Pats can win but can they? and this group may be under pressure whilst Brady is being run around the field and turnovers occur. The Giants have been beating teams on both sides of the ball over the last weeks .

Your whole argument hinges on the Giants front 4 just like many folk who believe the Giants will beat the Pats. Im delighted so many have written us off. Makes it so much sweeter if we get the win. Both teams have their problems and its going to be a cracker but good to see there is so much bias previews out there. The kind of sh1t that motivates the Pats on.
