UPC remote control

    Hi All,

I have a PACE DC621KU box for my UPC cable service. Yesterday the box stopped responding and the LED channel display is just showing UPC now - and I'm having to make do with analog which is awful. I contacted UPC and I need to press the 'UPC button' on the remote control and input '131' to reboot the box.

The problem is I lost the original remote control years ago and replaced it with a 'One for All' universal remote control and it has no equivalent button. I've had no issues up to now. I've tried three URC codes without effect (1582,1175 and 1577). Is there any way of replicating this functionality?

The only other option is to buy another remote from UPC for €25 which I'm loathe to do since this one has nothing wrong with it.

Has anybody had a similar issue and solved it?

    Thanks

Have you tried a reboot of the STB first? Plug it out, wait two minutes then plug it back in again.

    Hi ICDG,

I don't think that will resolve, I plug out the box each night so doubt this is it.

    Thanks

Find a neighbour using the same box and borrow his/her remote for 5 mins.

    Hi,

simplest solution is the best, borrowed the RC from next door and this solved the issue. Will have to follow the same courcse of action next time round though so not entirely resolved,

    Thanks!
