I don't want my address to appear when the item I am selling goes on display.
Surely, you don't have to display your full address, yet when I preview my ad it gives my full address which I don't want to do.

    Thanks for replies.

Do you mean it shows like this: "Item location: London, United Kingdom" - If so, that is normal, you can take that off, as far as I am aware.

I've sold plenty on eBay and never had any buyers get my house address, only my email address.

As far as I am aware, the only way someone will get your address is if you buy something.

    Cheers

I don't want my email address to appear on the ad publicly as I have my name on it.

I see ads have as you say 'Dublin, Ireland'. However, will it give your house address. I don't want it to do that. Surely there is a way to restrict this.

    Thanks

Your email address shouldn't appear publicly. And neither should your house address. I will say "Location: Dublin, Ireland" or on some auctions it might say "Naas, Kildare, Ireland", but it doesn't give your exact house address.

I have never, ever been given a sellers house address when I purchase from them and the same when I sell something, the buyer doesn't get my house address.

The buyer will get your email address though and there is no way to stop/change that as far as I am aware.
