No not in any way shape or form.

How so? What good has come of it?

It was a disaster. It shows how clearly out of touch some people are with reality and the mass extent of the mentality of the common sheep. It's created a Liverpool v The World scenario for a lot of fans. It was a joke of a campaign and has failed unimaginatively.

The common sheep mentality is reserved for anyone who thinks Suarez is a racist tbh. The club and Kenny in particular handled the whole situation perfectly. I sudder to think what would have happened if someone like Hodgson had of still been in charge.

Same here. He might have actually handled the situation with a bit of class and dignity. God forbid....

No he would have just done face rubs until everything was better.

The Liverpool fan on twitter was probably just trying to cause a stir and detract from the appalling handling of the Suarez incident by LFC and Dalglish.
fortunately he was found out for the liar he is and rightly rounded on by both sets of supporters.

Liverpool fans have been singing and chanting about Munich since the 60's and 70's and it was sadly inevitable that a section of the United support would retaliate when Heysel and Hillsborough occurred in the 80's.
Unfortunately its all very self perpetuating and very unnecessary all to this day.

Fans from Manchester United and Liverpool should appreciate their winning history instead of mocking each others tragedies.

Sadly I have no doubt that a section of Liverpool fans will be singing the usual Munich songs, making plane noises and hand gestures and throwing
around inflatable planes when they arrive for the League game.

This is probably not the right thread for such a debate but I would like to discuss it and find out what Evra did wrong? It is as if Evra was found guilty of racial abuse.

I will say it again, why did Arsenal fans boo the same player the week before?

Evra I think is an arrogant human being and kissing his badge in front of the KOP in the last game was not going to endear him to the Liverpool fans.

to be fair nobody believed it I said in the match thread that the utd fans are always escorted in the opposite direction after a game down to arkle lane.
If we were to open a thread on what every football fan said on twitter it would be a busy forum

Because he is a twat but the point is Liverpool fans know that Evra did nothing wrong in the incident between him and Suarez. The world is watching Anfield and instead of ignoring it, Liverpool fans just walk right into the trap. And the result at the end of it was Liverpool showing a lack of class and a fan getting arrested for alleged racist chanting.

Hodgson is an infinitely classier and more dignified man than Dalglish will ever be.

Just interested in why you disagree and/or find that funny? Genuinely like to know as I would have thought him to be dignified. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm not looking for an argument.

Evra did plenty wrong in the incident, he insulted Suarez sister, he told the ref misinformed information and then went off kissing the badge, he is no ****en angel.

    In your opinion.

The Hillsborough families whom he supported in such a dignified manner immediately after the disaster, and for each and every year since, will beg to differ. The benefactors from his wife's charity will beg to differ. Hundreds of thousands of Liverpool fans will beg to differ.

I'm sure Hodgson is a decent man, but your statement is just so wrong on so many levels.

True both sets of "fans" do it and you know what it's actually getting worse. Saturday was my first time at a Liverpool United game in three years and before that i never remember it as bad as that. I mean a good 50% of the United support where singing songs which had no place at any football ground. One of the reasons i never have gone to old trafford when we are playing United is because often there is a nasty atmosphere from the travelling Liverpool support, it seems to attract the worst type of fan.:(

Think about it though, it's the away fans that do this sort of ****, you're putting thousands of serious diehards in that will have no problem singing the most vile abuse imaginable. It's always away fans that sing the worst **** imaginable, be it arsenal fans with anti jewish songs in white hart lane, city and pool fans bouncing around with inflatable aeroplanes in old trafford, istanbul banners in the utd end at elland road, spurs fans in fratton park singing horrible things about Sol Campbell and so on. fwiw we were risen to it anyways, not condoning the idiotic abuse regarding the sun but boo our player for being the victim of racist abuse while rallying behind the perpetrator, expect a nasty response by riled fans. Such is football.

This is what I dont get.

Why do you believe that to be true? Because Luiz Suarez said so? If Suarez told you he didnt bite that player on the shoulder in the Dutch league, but rather he saw a bug he wanted to eat, would you call the recipient a liar?

If you and every other Liverpool fan are so certain about it, why was no evidence for this given at the the trial? Because there is none. Like a mother who wont accept that their son is capable of committing a crime, it is blind faith. That is why it is not acceptable to treat Evra the way he has been treated. Ironically, the kissing of the badge would be a perfectly acceptable reason, as it was after Gary Neville distastefully (although I did love it at the time) did so.

Lets talk about Patrice Evra now. Could I be accused of showing the same blind faith in him? Not really. The obvious reason is the decision to ban Suarez for 8 games, not even the lads with tin hats could say that was just because it was Liverpool. If there was no evidence there would be no ban. The less obvious reason is, niallo here is right, Patrice Evra is no angel. While interim captain of United, he is seriously underperforming, losing concentration and almost every United fan would agree he has become complacent or even as citytillidie put it, arrogant. He has that video on youtube from his days at Monaco calling Hasselbaink a "Muthafuka" and saying "suck my pussy Lampard". Had that video been put out today he would no doubt face a ban as the FA are all cool with technology. After the Ireland match he was a prat, and at the World Cup his big head tore the French team apart. Therefore, I believe Patrice Evra is no angel. It is not a case of, Evra said that? It's true, Suarez you racist!"

This is turning into a long-winded post, but if a kid in school was being bullied, and told a teacher, thus getting the bully expelled after the teacher investigated, and half the class thought the kid was lying because they didnt like him, would it be ok to boo him or taunt him? No.

I'm not having a go at you Niallo here, or any Liverpool fan for that matter, what I'm trying to say is that the decision to boo Evra for "lying" or getting Suarez banned is not right. Although I acknowledge that it wont be accepted, such are some peoples willingness to fight their teams' case.

Good comparison, it's like a kid in school having bullying dealt with by the teachers being ostracised thereafter as a grass. Maybe he could be a bit of a twat but it isn't fair for him to be ostracised for dealing with an issue that caused personal grief, in the same way that evra is perfectly entitled to report such an incident, whether he's a divisive character or not simply does not go into play. If it should, then would it be acceptable for a person to be bullied because you don't like them, for example? I get the feeling that liverpool are toeing some sort of party line that they're these saints who are always in the right and "them mancs", be it players or fans, are horrible nasty people who deserve suffering. Football....

I'll keep my reply short, I don't so long posts, the report says he told the ref Suarez called me a n**gger after the game, it's in the report.

That ok, I wasnt trying to change your opinion, I accepted I couldn't do that, I was just giving my point of view with a little bias to Manchester United as I possibly could. But the fact that the issue Evra did raise was ultimately subjected to an investigation that supported his claims, is why some have a problem with the treatment he recieved.

Myself and a hell of a lot of liverpool fans were not happy with the way the investigation was conducted, have you read the full report yourself.
