The sheer volume of utd fans singing the sun song was what surprised me, must have been a couple of thousand singing it.

yep, alot sung it. i was shocked. i do think a few liverpool fans in that lower centenary stand were acting the maggot also, BUT that is no excuse, united fans, each and every one of them that sang it acted like ****.

ive no problem with "always the victim, its never your fault" as that only started due to the whole racism thing, but the Sun reference is shocking and it must be stopped before sunday week.

do liverpool fans or more so neutrals, think united fans singing ""always the victim, its never your fault" is crossing the munich/hillsboroug line or is it only in response to the racism problem?

for me, its all down to the racism and i only would sing it in relation to the "were not racist, we only hate mancs" thing. both are fine for me, but i would be interested in seeing a different/neutral opinion.

to be honest, ive never heard it sung ever before inside a stadium. ive heard the sun reference "roy was right, your fans are shi*e, so was the sun, you murdering scum" sung in pubs and outside pubs.

so its been there, just not sung at the grounds. likewise, the majority of munich chanting doesnt take place inside anfield and old trafford. its normally only 10-20 idiots that do it.

surprisingly, the majority of munich singing takes place at bolton, they are disgusting bas*ards. the first time i was there, i was stunned.

there was a few 100 fans near the away end constantly singing munich songs and most united fans were too shocked to actually say anything back.

Regarding sick chants...I think if idiots from both sides won't listen to Ferguson or Dalglish they probably won't listen to anyone.

    It's just sad really.

a lot can change over 3 days. im just genuinely sick of all this nonsense that's happening in football. man u versus liverpool is starting to turn into a real nasty derby game due to a few idiots from either side. im just sick of it all. hearing arguments the last 3 days from my friends who are liverpool and man u fans basically saying well x did this but y did this. who gives a a ****e. i use to look forward to man u versus Liverpool but due to recent events by idiots supporters of each team im just sick of it now.

Its not just a few idiots thats the thing. I was at the game Saturday and it was a good 50% of the United support singing sick songs.

It is not down to the Evra/Suarez thing as variations of it have been used for years now. For me it is crossing a line.

The "We're not racist, we only hate Mancs" I find cringeworthy and hope it dies out quickly.

My Uncle has said the same about them before, now that you mention it.

I hope police find these fools who sang these songs about Hillsborough and never left get a ticket again.

Really disappointed to hear it, really am, and as United fan who been to few away games it's disappointing cause I really love going to away games, cause the atmosphere is much better lot of the time.

Only time I ever heard a song about Hillsborough was at the Birmingham game last year at St Andrews. 2 fools were together on something more then alcohol and started this chant I won't repeat. Thankfully they were chucked out immediately, and the people around me were angry over it too.

just ban them, its up to the club. to be honest, ive been to alot of united and liverpool games and its been grand INSIDE the stadium. most of the problems are outside the grounds, thats never seen. ive seen some sickening things outside the stadium. i was on a carraige full of city fans singing munich songs going to wembley in april...i felt sick in my stomach, but i stayed quiet, id no choice really. one fan did pipe up and the city fans attacked him, he fell down between the train and the platform and instead of helping him up, the city fan kicked him in the head....it all started cos a small group of morons sang about a plane crash 50 years ago.

the respect is 99% there, it was about 80% on saturday, sadly for me the majority of that was united fans singing one song, but maybe it was done without malacious intent of a few people who just didnt think.

outside the ground, the liverpool fans that abused us while we were walking into town were a disgrace. the police i dont think were able to do anything about it, but maybe a law needs to be changed to stop it.

I found that pathetic from Liverpool fans. It seems a lot of people at Anfield have trivialised the incident with Patrice Evra and almost as if Evra did something wrong.

I can see why that would wind up the Man Utd fans and they replied back in a nasty way. This is what happens at heated football matches.

Don't be so naive,Every set of supporters in the country would have booed under the same circumstances.Anyone saying not is fibbing.

This is probably not the right thread for such a debate but I would like to discuss it and find out what Evra did wrong? It is as if Evra was found guilty of racial abuse.

But not every manager would have come out beforehand in a ridiculous t-shirt supporting the player involved. And then maybe supporters would not be so stupid in booing the opposition player.

I was reading earlier when some one said Dalglish has single-handedly decimated the work of the anti-racism movement in English football. The T shirt was ridiculous.

i dont think so mate, i dont think so. the statement of the club has played a big part in a seige mentality.

but this has been done and dusted in other threads, its all been said.

Back on topic, here's what that moron tweeted-before the United fans were even let out of the ground:rolleyes:

    aaaavll.jpg

Not all fans are saints but tweeting something like that in an already heated atmosphere could have led to something serious.
Oh Brian-yes everyone knows your name.I hope your proud of yourself how you used the memorial to 96 innocent victims for your own bad minded ends. And you called yourself a true Liverpool fan,no better than the guy doing monkey gestures imo.

Did the eejit think it would be funny to come up with such a story or did he do it out of malice?

It certainly has to be one of the stupidest and most embarrassing PR disasters, I can remember for a top flight manager. An extremely arrogant gesture that left egg on a lot of faces and done untold damage to the Liverpool brand.

Surprised the UK police aren't looking at possible incitement there. But then again they might be.

A lot of liverpool fans are unhappy in the way the case was handled and the way evra behaved that day and afterwards, as for your second point are you saying utd fans are justified in singing songs about the dead because evra was booed.

    I've a confession to make.

I said something terrible to a Liverpool fan before and he never really got over it.

I told him that Gerard was a huge fan of Roy Keane and he looked on him as a role model on how to play the game.It was even worse 'cos it was true.

Seriously though, horrible things are chanted at games, just look at what happened to Billy Sharp when some Burnley fans abused him over his dead child.
I've seen it myself at OT when some Liverpool fans did the aeroplane gestures and United fans responded with chants of "murderers".

So you'd think it's fine because a Man Utd player gets booed at Anfield (duh who'd ave thuk it) that it's okay to sing songs about people who where killed whilst watching a football match?

You really don't think Liverpool handled the whole situation absolutely horribly? It was a catastrophic disaster of a PR campaign.

True both sets of "fans" do it and you know what it's actually getting worse. Saturday was my first time at a Liverpool United game in three years and before that i never remember it as bad as that. I mean a good 50% of the United support where singing songs which had no place at any football ground. One of the reasons i never have gone to old trafford when we are playing United is because often there is a nasty atmosphere from the travelling Liverpool support, it seems to attract the worst type of fan.:(
