Shogun 2 - cant recruit daikyu samurai

    Daikyu Samurai dont appear in the recruit menu for me, after building corrrect buildings.
    There are reports of a bug like this but it is supposed to have been fixed, and my version is up to date.
    Does anyone know any info about this, or a fix?

    No mods at all. Steam version and checked the version number to confirm it was up-to-date.
    It crashes a lot too - though I'm not certain it is the game and not my graphics card driver.
    Finished campaign with chesokabe faction now anyway I guess - will use another faction if I go back.
