One for the those heading to Berget maybe, on the dangers of "brandishing" in Stockholm: Author arrested for 'fake' pistol photo shoot

A woman in Hässelby in western Stockholm was dragged for nearly 10 metres under her own car after she managed run herself over on Friday morning in what police believe was a failed attempt to deal with some apparent engine trouble.

Yeah, The Local does tend to do some strange stories. I just love their many "Pastor" ones:
Swedish clergy seem to be far more "interesting" than ours.

BTW, if you are still watching the war films, go check out Brotherhood: Taeguki, a Korean film about the war there.
One of many excellent foreign war films.

The producers of this beer commercial borrowed a small150 seat cinema playing a popular film, and filled 148 of its seats with rough-looking tattooed bikers, leaving only two free seats in the middle of the theater. They then allowed theater management to sell tickets for the last pair of seats to several young couples.
What would you do? Watch till the end ......

The kriss vector is a pretty unusual looking type of gun and I would have thought it would typically be something thats not really well known but it appears to be highly anticipated and a very popular item that airsofters are looking forward to seeing released.

I'm wondering what makes this gun a popular want with airsofters ?

Is it just because its different or is the reason more to do with Computer games and movies ?

Was it some computergame like Call of Duty or Medal of honer thats made
it more well known and wanted ? or was it in some popular action movie ?

People have been crying about it since they showed it on Futureweapons. Then the games community picked up on it after that, added it to a couple of games and the result of the two is a frenzy of people who'll pay ridiculous money for what is, essentially, an odd looking MP5.

Tried that :) too much carving to be done to receiver to fit AR stock and RIS adapters

Was thinking of using the we AK47 PMC as it already takes AR stocks and fitting RIS should be easier

But that'll be a very long time coming as Iam currently working on a G36E DMR :D

Rick O’Shea, an Irish radio DJ on RTE’s 2fm, recently asked his listeners what questions they think should be asked on an Irish citizenship test, and they responded with some amusing answers. O’Shea’s team has since made a poster to convey all the favorite responses.

You are told that someone is "going spare," should you (a) Find him a job (b) Find him a girlfriend (c) Avoid him
Do your parents ever start conversations with "Do you know who's dead?"
Ming the Merciless is (a) A comic book character (b) A TD and Mayor from Co. Roscommon
What is a holy show? (a) Religious programming (b) Something garish worn without the wearer knowing the impact
Do you live in immortal fear of leaving the immersion on?
Someone says "I like your top." Your response is (a) Thanks (b) Penneys
If a feature on the RTE news reports that an incident took place at tea time what time did the incident occur?
"Story horse!" translates as (a) A child's toy (b) A greeting between friends
"Bleedin rappih" means (a) It's very fast (b) It's very good
If someone was a 'gas man', would they (a) work for the gas company (b) be really funny
You'll get "some land" means (a) you're about to become the owner of some property (b) you're about to be surprised
Do you have an ineradicable belief in the restorative powers of flat 7up?
When you're telling someone a great yarn and they implore you to "Stop," do you (a) stop (b) keep going with gusto
If someone offers to "put you in the pot", should you (a) flee from the cannibals (b) accept their kind offer of dinner

Computer games I think, lots of COD exposure.

If memory serves me correctly, the Kriss was one of the weapons that was unlocked later in the first set of levels in call of duty, ie. not prestige, and obviously if you have to play more to unlock it, it's defo better, duh. Lol :p

In all honesty, if you make it "harder" to attain something or it's not available at the time, someone will want it more.

    Eg.
    - That donut looks good.
    - Well, you can't have it.
    - I now want that donut!

This creates the impression that something could be rare or better than other items which may be equally as good.

So to summarise, the kriss was interesting before. But with an audience in the millions from COD being exposed to it, it becomes much more well known and will therefore develop a higher demand in the marketplace.

So you agree with him then? Video game exposure = higher demand in the market place.

I too first saw this gun in cod and thaught it was a make believe weapon as I could never put up with 'mac' so never saw it was real. Also I believe that at least 75% of airsofters get their firearms knowledge from video games so there's lots of confusion as to the real name of firearms and there's always that stunern jackass of a kid who has to be right because he played the game and unlocked all the attachments, including akimbo :pac:

Although in fairness video games hav been more true to form when comes to the naming and anatomy of a gun

Although I wasn't happy with the fact that the Styer was only a support weapon :( never an assault option. Can't wait till WE release the Styer :D would pay any price for that!

As for the the supposed $400 price tag on the kriss not paying it end of. It's an exstortionary price to pay for what is essentially an oversized gas blow back pistol
