Really good sale in Barratts shoe shop at the moment. Bought 3 pairs of shoes for €21 :-) They were €150 in total pre sale! Lots of shoes from €7-€14!

Tell me it's nationwide? I could do with getting even more shoes. I am like Carrie Bradshaw.

I think it is, as they're in administration Deloittes is managing them and looks like they are just trying to get rid of stock. Sad for the staff if no one comes in to save them. Great bargains though! I bought shoes in Swords and in Grafton st.

I bought a load of shoes the other day in the Mahon Point branch , the most expensive pair was €7!!!! I heard another customer ask when they were closing down and they said that they weren't closing down and they were bought out of administration?

There may be closures if lanlords don't do deals, but it has been bought out of administration by the original owner. And as I was in the trade in the UK and dealt with him personally, he eats sleeps and dring footwear and is a gentleman - so if anyone can bring Barratts back to the glory days its Michael Ziff himself.

I went out to Mahon to get a few pairs of shoes for my boys and it was all rubbish that was under €10. Did I miss out on the good deals? Any decent brands were still quite expensive.

Just after Christmas i bought 2 pairs of Skechers from Henry Street Branch, got those shaper one's and a smart brown pair, both down from 140euro (overpriced at that) to 30euro a pair

They'd be at the better end of the cheap market. A lot of the shoes would be leather uppers, but not great leather, but its all about what you need thm for / what you use them for. I have a €350 pair of Hogan shoes and I also have a €29.99 pair of Barratts - I expect the Hoigans to last for years and will be used on selected occasions, whereas the barratts shoes are more for pottering about in the garage/garden at the weekend.

Nothing worth talking about in Blanchardstown SC yesterday, just in case anyone was thinking of making a trip specifically for footwear

I can pop into town on Tuesday evening and maybe have a quick look...anyone know if it's worth going to the Ilac Centre/Henry St/Grafton St branches?

Always found them pretty good for school shoes for the kids. Maybe not the most stylish shoes but not the worst either and not the worst quality

Never thought Id see the day where my local paper is used on boards.

The quality isn't what you'd call fantastic, they have cheaper brands than others and some aren't that bad. While I wouldn't have paid €55 for the shoes I bought I do find their own brand better quality. They are grand for work and casual wear imo.

They were selling caterpillar boots at half price too so it really depends what you are looking for.
