1.8 petrol audi Expensive to run? Any good?

I'm thinking of buying a 1.8 petrol Audi a4 I always had diesel before is it better to stick to diesel will a 1.8 petrol be expensive to run? Does diesel petrol make a difference on tax? I haven't a clue about cars! Thanks

Not expensive to run but I would suggest that coming from a diesel, it would appear frighteningly expensive.

Drove a 1.8 turbo a6 for a while and it was grand to run especially on long drives. Good power in them too
