Just bought this Freeview HD box - will it get Saorview?

Shouldn't you have asked before you bought it?

It will decode & display the Saorview services as they stand; the only way to guarantee 100% Saorview compatibility now & in future is to buy Saorview approved equipment.

Obviously if you can receive Freeview HD now or after switchover, that's another matter.

Now that you have the receiver do you have an aerial to connect to it? Let us know how it performs with Saorview.

I bought it simply because of the price, the fact that it offered recordability, it was well reviewed and I had an idea it might serve my purpose.

If it doesn't, then no odds, as I would get my money back or sell it on an auction site or give it to a family member who is in NI and who can see a Freeview signal.

I hope to get it connected up in the next day or two.

Well it doesn't work for me either, same problem with the RTEs.

Shame, if it had worked it would have been a bargain Saorview PVR for £40.

I noticed that if you are on one of the RTE channels after it has gone 'black screen' and hit MENU, then the channel picture and sound both come back in the background.
