    if i wish to connect a second lnb to a humax hdr + will i need 3 cables running to the box ie 2 for freesat + and 3rd for other lnb feed

    No, you would use diseqc switches up near the satellite to switch between the two lnbs. Then you would just need the two cables running down as normal.

    OP wasnt clear on whether his 2nd LNB was to pick up the same satellite or a different satellite. (and given that he is asking the question he may not know the difference..) If its the same satellite, how many connections are on your existing LNB? If its only a single or double, just replace it with a Quad, then run the two extra cables to the Freesat+ box

    A second LNB is only required to pick up a feed from a different satellite

    thanks homer, second satellite ,i am in the planning stage ,and on a steep learning curve, i now have another question.. is it possible to combine a saorview and satellite feed and seperate them again at tv, ie cut down the number of cables coming in to the tv room

    Yes, you need these to combine the single and then another to split it out again.
