Can you get the projects back after they have been graded?

Unfortunately you can't. You can view them after the results come out if you wish, but that's it.

you have to include a pdf of the portfolio to go on your disc anyway, so just copy the pdf and keep that. it's the best you can do.

Our teacher told us that we only had to have the solidworks done for today, so basically a lot of people in our class don't have the projects on a disc or printed off excluding one or two. Is this true? Or do you have to have everything done now?

I think your teacher has the wrong info. the deadline for the entire project was today. that includes the solidworks and a 14 page portfolio..

Lots of people just skip finishing it off today and doing a bit on it over the weekend because you can change file dates etc.

Our projects were all taken and locked away at 3:20 today, there wont be any doing a bit over the weekend. It's disgraceful how some people aren't following the rules and working on it after the deadline. The projects should have to be delivered to the department today to stop cheating.

Feels great to have it all done ! :D

40% done, happy out :) we were told this year we wouldnt be able to do sketches after the date, however, previous years were allowed! I dont think its cheating, too much schools do it, but it is unfair!

And how many pages of photorealistic images should I do? Some people in my class are thinking about doing 3 pages of them? Nobody has gotten to that stage yet though

Leave the parts, assemblies and eDrawings as they are. The pdf is of the booklet you made.

Well, as long as you worry about your own project, surely you need not be concerned about others :)

Obviously people know they're not guaranteed 40%! It's 40% of the Leaving Cert DCG subject done! Jesus, even if people did think they were gonna get 40% it shouldn't bother ye.. :/

Is everyone's projects sent yet? Our school and surrounding schools have yet to receive the envelopes.

They don't have to be submitted to the SEC until the end of February, so it's quite possible the envelopes are not in the schools yet.

I am just curious if any of you know if there is any DCG revision books, or what books is best to help a student in the drawing aspect of the course. I know there was a book for Junior Cert that had all the solutions to the exam questions, but I am not sure if there is such a book for the Leaving Cert, does anyone else know? The reason I am asking is because my teacher is possibly the worst teacher in Ireland!

I thought this would be the best place to post instead of making a new thread. :)

They used to produce solutions books in the past but I have yet to see any for the new course

Go onto examinations.ie and on the left select exam material archive you can get all the solutions to every subject from every year there with no cost

Yea there's a DCG book called "Design and Communication Graphics for Leaving Certificate" by Joseph Terry and published by Folens. It's pretty good.

Sorry I missed the part about the book in the original question. The best book is dcg 1&2 by David Anderson. I find it much clearer then the Joseph terry book
