King of the Road documentary

Does anyone know where this was filmed. It is near Cahir as she says they go shopping in Cahir

At 14.36 she says they are are in a townland knock

cannot catch the rest. There is a castle and i think it originally belonged to a historian called Green

Sorry about typo in title, can a mod fix?

It sounds to me like she's saying Loughloher townland, which is indeed near Cahir.

There is a castle called Loughloher Castle, which was owned by a William Quin

Thanks. what side of cahir is loughloher at? What road out of Cahir?

East of the town and South of the N24. From the square you drive up Pearse St. and out past convent for about a mile or two.

Is pearse street the road to ardfinnan, out by the church?

If you leave the square, take the road by Cahir House Hotel, heading for Ardfinnan, but almost immediatly, take the road to the left. That's out the Convent road to Loughloher. You'll know if you're on the right road because you'll pass the primary school (on the left), as you leave the town.

By the way, berrypendel, do you have any idea if that documentary was part of a series? I'd love to know if there are more, but there's only one such programme listed on the RTE website.

Some of the cinematic aspects of the documentary are really lovely to watch.

have you seen http://www.rte.ie/tv50/programmes.html ? It list a documentary with pat short is that the one you mean. king o fthe Road was Rural portrait I think had three in a series. one was Michael and there was also as far as i can remember a vicar and a factory worker featured. http://www.rte.ie/tv/programmes/tv50_highlightsfromthetvarchives.html
