    haha interesting title eh :P

i ordered a new sky mk4 dish the other day and ive been installing it today just took down my old dish.. which was giving me weather problems ,only to realise the dish was too big and hitting off the roof and drains.. i just cut up an old vaccum (the stick thing i cant think of the name) and put it on top of my current stick that holds the dish to make it higher so it would not hit off the roof... is there any danger of this?

i know its unusual but i have just taken down the dish and need to get my tv back up and running tonight.

excuse the lack of proper terms, i cant even think today haha

What kind of bracket is already fitted? Can it be re-fitted differently to allow the dish to clear the obstructions?

I'd doubt any part of a vacuum cleaner is strong enough to support a satellite dish; proceed at your own risk.

its on the other part of the extended part and i measured it to fit securely, working pretty good right now

i presume it is the aluminium tube , it would be very thin walled and guaranteed to bend in strong wind, bad idea

Drop in to local sat supplier and buy a standoff bracket.
