Few British shows. Misfits, peep show etc. no big deal really as 4od and the likes usually have the shows you miss.
But strangely, Netflix us has more eps of top gear than the Irish one.

Peep Show is still there, whole host of UK TV still there listed under TV-UK TV

That Ultimate Fighting Championship show last night was unboring. Unsure about grabbing the cage being a fair block for a takedown though.

That knockout of Etim was the just incredible, he was ko'd on his feet and fell like a tree, just class. Didn't make up for the blank nothing of a performance by AC in the derby tonite.

could not agree more! that episode on bbc last night had me like  for the last half hour!

I like the subtle little things in it - like him hating and insulting the sherlock hat!

Can't believe Zambrotta is still playing.

Can't believe Zambrotta is still playing.

He's still better than Antonini or Taiwo. If Milan had any money i'd hope they'd buy a new left back haven't had a proper one in yonks. Need another creative midfielder too & a defensive midfielder who isn't 35 or going blind. What i'd give for Milan to be given some of the money liverpool just burn on worthless english talent.

In another 6 years Milan can buy Di Natale and Del Piero. And then Jankulovski might come in another 30 years :pac:

Would any of yous recommend 'Homeland'? Seen the trailers on RTE, looks alright but it's possible to make anything look good in a trailer I suppose.

I was iffy on Homeland, still haven't watched it, but all the lads keep recommending it to me now as the next show to get into.

Yep one of the best new shows of the year, it only has 12 episodes per season well worth watching

Had a dream involving Kieran Westwood and Andrea Pirlo. If Pirlo didn't score a free-kick from 40ish yards out the world would end. He ends up hitting the underside of the bar, over the goal-line. Then Westwood angrily kicked the ball into my face and I was dead. That was my dream. Thank you.

Strange Classico tonite. Madrid took the lead after a good break & a Abiatti impression by the hapless Pinto then retreated into their shells again. You could see Mourinho was trying to repeat the tactics Inter used vs Barca in the UCL semi but they clearly don't have defenders the quality of Samuel, Lucio and Zanetti.

love the result of the dns netflix trick but now any way to not pay $4.99 a month for the dns server?

Tbh 10 a month(when you combine Netflix & DNS) is worth it completely. Works with the BBC iPlayer too

    Full article

Hey guys, I hate talking about serious stuff, but you might've noticed that wikipedia, and several other sites, were down yesterday in opposition to the US bill "SOPA" (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIPA, which is basically the same thing.

The crux of SOPA is that certain US congressmen, backed by rich corporate companies (such as the MPAA) want to pass a bill that gives certain people the power to take down ANY site it believes to be infringing on copyrights. Fighting piracy is fine, but this bill goes deep into internet censorship. It's written so broadly that sites like Google, Facebook, Youtube, basically any site you go to - including Boards.ie - could and would be taken down. Practically every site on the internet has some kind of copyrighted material, and the bill would take down a site first - guilty until proven innocent.

The bill was denied on Monday (until it can be re-worded and concessions made) and there was a protest amongst internet sites yesterday. Wikipedia's message was visited 162 million times, Obama declared his non-support to it and a further 8 congressmen dropped their support of the bill. All in all, a great success. Until the next iteration comes along (PIPA, and OPEN)

ScrewAttack (a videogaming site) has started the ball rolling on boycotting E3, the videogames industry's biggest event, which is run by the ESA, who support SOPA. Anyway without going into more detail, this effects us because the internet as we know it would be severely censored if this bill passes. American internet has a direct effect on us. Huge success yesterday, hooray for internet!

    From The Diabhal Daily:
Megaupload was one of the final remaining websites that toured Japan and Mexico before making it mainstream on the international web. Obviously Megaupload was a hard worker and took whatever it had to to be able to perform every night of the week. Megaupload was very bitter about no longer being to top filesharing site now that this new generation of cloud computing had outdated it and would do tours of Ireland and the UK to keep the name out there. Unfortunately server overdoses which are all too common in this industry led to an early death.

    R.I.P Mega Steven Upload.

I'm gutted about Megaupload/Megavideo's demise, I was a premium member there a while back though i didn't really use it too much in recent times due to torrents. Have to wonder if Fileserve or Youtube are next to go?

What I don't understand is how the US justice department can shut down a Hong Kong based website.

According to wiki though, Megaupload will return with a new website soon.

This is how it was explained to me on another board...

As alleged in the indictment, the conspirators failed to terminate accounts of users with known copyright infringement, selectively complied with their obligations to remove copyrighted materials from their servers and deliberately misrepresented to copyright holders that they had removed infringing content. For example, when notified by a rights holder that a file contained infringing content, the indictment alleges that the conspirators would disable only a single link to the file, deliberately and deceptively leaving the infringing content in place to make it seamlessly available to millions of users to access through any one of the many duplicate links available for that file.

The indictment charges the defendants with conspiring to launder money by paying users through the sites’ uploader reward program and paying companies to host the infringing content.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,014 ✭✭✭✭jaykhunter

It'd basically be starting anew if they have to change site/name and everyone has to re-reg. tbh i'm surprised it was a straight call rather than "you must ban these and future bans for infringing users within a certain time limit" .....but maybe the court/accusing parties already exhausted that avenue.

i don't understand the duplicate link deal though; how can there be many different links to one file?

Decent explanation, but I still don't get how the US justice has the authority to Layeth the Smacketh down on an Asian website.

And what about YouTube, which is a US company and who are making millions through advertising, being allowed to host copyright material such as the 1993 Royal Rumble which i'm just about to watch.
