For me, even though I've only had it a week, unblock-us. I had black VPN for a year and although it was good, it did slow my connection down, also you had to switch between a UK VPN and a US VPN when you wanted to access that countries content.

Unblock-us hasn't slowed my connection at all and once you've changed the Dns settings, that's it. No switching VPNs on and off or switching from one to another.

Tbf, although they do the same thing for the purposes of Netflix, BBC iplayer etc. they aren't really the same thing.

+1 . . no messing around with unblock-us . . Just a simple DNS change and you are laughing . . I also found speed problems with BlackVPN (and that is on a 30MB UPC connection).

And there's no traffic limit with unblock ?

Don't think so . . was streaming HD from BBC last night on PS3 . . all working beautifully . .

Yeah, you need to set up a US iTunes account to download the apps themselves, then I think you can just use your regular account after that.

    Go here: http://www.getusitunesaccount.com/

Just follow the instructions slowly and to the letter and you'll be done in 10 mins, max!

No . . Netflix is now on the Irish iTunes site, if you have changed your DNS settings then your iPad will automatically access the US selection .. no need for a US iTunes account . .

However, if you get a US account you will also be able to download ABC player, Spotify, Pandora, which all work with US-unblock.

If you get a UK iTunes account (same process) you will be able to download BBC iPlayer, ITV player ..

What DNS do I put in exactly? I think this is where I'm going wrong.

It wasn't for me, nor was it on the PS3 either (which I found odd) setting up the US and UK iTunes and PSN was the fastest and easiest solution.

    Yes following that.

I have only space for one DNS on my iPad. Plus, it says something about separating with commas. Should I put commas in between the numbers or full stops.

I then restart the iPad and then restart Netflix, right?

Thanks so much, feel v stupid!

Got US version of Netflix running on my PS3 like a dream. Im using the DNS settings from UnBlock US for their weeks free trial.

Does anyone know a work around to get free DNS settings without paying the subscription to UnBlock US. It'll be hassle setting up a new email every week just to get their weeks free trial and Im wondering if they'll cope my IP doing that every week?

Oh I see what you mean now: 208.122.23.22, 208.122.23.23 I believe... I'll look on my iPad later.

Im liking the service, think it's great, definitely going to continue my subscription. Don't like the quality of it though, the programs. Hope more HD stuff comes along.

Have been watching netflix for a week or so now (through the wii) and two things stand out as very annoying, the UI is pi$$ poor on the WII but even worse, there is seemingly no way of storing titles that you'd like to watch again at some future date. You're flicking through the content and see something but just aren't in the right mood for it at that moment, then you go back another time and can't for the life of you remember what or where it was

Will I pay to view next month though? Not unless they start ramping up the content PDQ.

(Cough Cough......blows dust off a loaned copy of " Why I dont want to Pay Money for Things Excuse Book")

Well.....given the current economic circumstances of the country I feel that......:D

I find the gui on the xbox to be the best but then compared to sky go on the xbox it's not great. One suggestion is when you see something, play it for about twenty seconds (you'll figure out how long after a few times) and then it will be added to your previously watched queue.

Interesting . . I have IE Netflix installed on my iPAD . . If I log in from home WIFI (where I have set unblock DNS settings) I see US content . . If I log on from work (No DNS settings) I see IE content . .

There is actually a huge amount of content on Netflix. Very little of it is shown on the front page and theres no alphabetical full search, it only brings up a small selection for each letter.

If you are on the US site, I posted a link to a website that lists all their titles.

The search function on the PS3 isn't great either. On PC you can search by Director, actor etc etc I presume the Wii is closer to the PS3

Found a film on the UK/Irish netflix that wasn't on the US one too, which I found a bit funny. Granted its out ages but missus hadn't see Rounders so we were going to watch it.

    Great film too..

.. could be just me but when rating movies on my iPad, I came across a couple in recommendations which I couldn't find in the main categories.

As in I went through all categories carefully (clicked 'Load More' until it reached the end of each) a half hour earlier and rated everything I'd seen.

Then I was looking at a film and noticed a movie I'd seen which I hadn't rated, and can't remember seeing it in any of the categories.

    Anyone else notice this?

    Same.
I uninstalled and reinstalled netflix on my iphone since I got back into work and it's still logging me into the IE Netflix. I'm assuming it's because I've still got a valid account on the IE Netflix?

The US unblock relates only to the device(s) where the DNS settings were altered.

You account with netflix doesn't change at all. If you only change the settings on your laptop at home, then you'll see the US content there. If you don't change the settings on your PS3 at home, you'll see Irish content there

Some have canged the info on their wireless router, hence all connected devices have changed

If you're using another network (ie work, mobile networks), you'll need to make the same changes (And I don't know if its possible for mobile networks)

doesn't always show up what you have been watching. A number of titles that I flicked through or watched part of never seem to appear. For example I'm on episode 5 of Friday Night Lights but it has yet to show up on my recently watched. Oddly enough some stuff I clicked on but didn't watch more than 10 seconds of keep showing up.

I understand that - I think I've overlooked the fact that I had originally set up my iPhone with the DNS settings but later decided to just put it on the router instead. I'd forgotten I reverted by iPhone back to defaults so it was never going to be able to get US from work on their network.

I also overlooked the fact that my IE account was still active, despite cancelling it!

    Please help !!

I have Netflix US working on the laptop since Saturday as i configured the UPC Cisco and entered DNS codes...however, I still can't watch anything on the PS3.
I am going into the browser and googling Netflix and logging in successfully. I can see the US content although when i try to play something it says you need to have some software ???

Am i right in going into netflix through the browser?

No. There should be a seperate Netflix app in the TV section. No need to use the browser.

would be great if they could improve their search function, and allow you to search via directors/actors etc

If you don't have a TV section, try installing PS3 Home. When you turn on the PS3, just go up or down until you see Home and click on it and agree to install it. Then you should have a TV section with Netflix on the home screen if you scroll left.

Thanks so so much :D. Was totally confused as to why there was no TV option.

Looks like i will have to change DNS settings as i can only see the irish content unlike the laptop which has all the US.

Does this not work on apple tv/iPad if you signed up with your FB account? When I try to login on them using my FB email and password I get an "invalid login" message
