How come the Dublin people on RTE don't have a thick Dooblin accent?

I remember when I went to Dublin the very first time, in McDonalds I heard Dublin people speaking. They had a very thick Dublin accent and I found it a bit hard to understand them TBH. But that's good.

But on RTE/TV3 any people from Dublin speak in a neutral Irish accent, why don't they speak with a real Dublin accent? I remember watching TV3, Ireland AM. The youngish man with the blond hair was interviewing the people in the "Pyjama Girls" movie/documentary. For that interview he spoke with a real thick Dublin accent, it proved he switches up accents.

    What does AH think?

    The TV forum is available.

The Dublin forum is also still going strong.

If you feel like getting naked on camera while talking about this important subject there are also numerous sites available where you can do just that.

The internet is truly a wonderful varied place.
