    Symptoms of poverty:-

    An overpowering urge to procreate.

An overpowering urge to eat food with a high fat content.

An overpowering urge to steal and rob.

    A tendency towards violence.

    A tendency towards illiteracy.

A tendency to wear plastic as a clothing item.

    Being unhygienic.

The idea that the government owes you money.

Poor people do not have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. People are not starving, but they are “food insecure.” If the only food available/affordable is fried foods, cheap /junk etc, then that is obviously what people are going to eat.

In that respect she is Blonde and right.

When I use my time machine to go to the 19th century ( or earlier), their learned minds will ask me this: Has the 20th/21st century eliminated poverty.

I will say "No! Its a bad old Capitalist world and the poor suffer from Obesity because of it".

    To which they will reply:

"Sounds like you have eliminated poverty"

One can argue that poor people tend to eat a lot more processed food because it appears to be cheaper even though said food is usually high in saturated and trans/hydrogenated fats.

Are there any studies which indicate that the less well off are heavier than those on average or above incomes?

First they came for the socialists...

She's not. Poor people tend to buy cheap fast food rather than healthy veggies and other things.
They also tend to exercise less.
    Hence the obesity.

Healthy foods are just as cheap - but they often involve cooking.
