UPC for phone/broadband, keeping Sky TV...Phone line issue?

    Very possibly a stupid question....
I'm considering moving to UPC for phone & broadband only, and keeping Sky for television. Sounds simple enough, but would not having a "real" phone line cause issues with Sky's call-backs??

Depends on where you live according to SKY, i`m getting a second SKy HD (1TB) box installed on monday as I heard that UPC phonelines in the dublin area are now officially supported by SKY.

I`d give SKY a call to see if you can use a UPC line in your area.

Have a look here, there is a workaround to get UPC phonelines to work with Sky.

BTW. you don't need a phoneline connected to the box unless you have multiroom;)

Good Point:-) SKY Charged me a one off fee of €37 when I got my original box installed in 2010 as I didn`t have a phoneline, it`s only for the second box I need one....

my parents have 5 skyboxes (with full subscription cards) none of which are connected to any phonelines... and they all work fine and have been like that for 4 years now

The analouge line out of a UPC modem will work if connected to a Sky box.

I can confirm this - got my 1TB box installed today and connected it to the DSL port on my crappy UPC cisco router/modem with no issues:-)
