    Hi All,

I got some work done on my car recently enough. A few weeks later, the drive shaft fell out while I was driving. The garage took responsibility for this and told me no damage had been done and they had fixed it and replaced the screws. Yesterday, I was driving a long and the car started slipping out of gear. I had to force it into gear and hold the gear in place to get it home. I was told by a friend that there cold be gear box damage as a result of the earlier incident but I assumed the garage were being honest.

Is it likely that the 2 are related? Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    C

When you say your driveshaft fell out, from where the gearbox??

Unfortunately, I have no idea. I was told the "drive shaft had fallen out".

There was no drive in the car. If I put it in gear and accelerated, the car would just shake and not move.

The garage had not put it back in properly when working on the car. They put it in then and said it was their mistake but not this problem with the gearbox makes me think they are related.

I had no issues with the car before this.

What did you get done originally?

You say drive shaft fell out and also the garage replaced the screws.so I imagine in this case ur talking about a bag car.so if the drive falls out on a vag type car u don't loose and oil u just loose drive so I would say u done any damage as a result of that.also what work did u have done, seems like it was at least a gear box r clutch in which case u need to be sure the right amount of oil was used.but then again maybe u got a second hand gearbox in which case thats what happens wen u buy second hand.it seems like your looking to ble the garage for everything.id make sure u had all your facts and figures right before u do
