Looking for some advice, hope someone can help.

Will a Worcester 70/90 Oil Boiler with Bentone burner currently burning kerosene also work with a 50:50 mix of agri diesel and kerosene?

If the answer is NO, could it be adjusted to do so? What would need to be done?

    Thanks in advance.

    Model?

It may "work" straight off but the only way to know its working correctly and isnt going to soot is to check and adjust the oil pressure / air intake, you'll also need to do flue gas analysis checks in order to get it just right.

The only writing on the burner is Bentone B11 (PL 10-4-24-10)
Dont know if that refers to Model though.

How much should it cost to get someone in to modify the burner for diesel?

    Many thanks

Does the appliance have a low level flue or high level?

Mixing fuel is never advisable, as you will never maintain the correct mix content, and will be prone to shooting, poorer performance, and carbon monoxide.

In practice, yes it's possible, new nozzle, pump pressure adjustment, smoke test and analysis, but have seen lots of sorry heads afterwards

Ok, thanks for that. Mixing not a great idea.

It says on the boiler it can be adapted to burn Gas Oil, I presume that means Diesel?

If we adapted it to burn 100% diesel are there disadvantages over kerosene?

Its got a low level flue. How is that important?

    Thanks a lot.

You should not burn anything but kero on low level, as the particulates in the flue gas for diesel need to be at high level (2.5 m min) as are not good for you!

    Lol@shooting! Sooting, predictive text! Grrr
