Buying A Car in WA- Advice!

    Hi All,

I'm looking into buying a car in Perth. Does anyone know the costs associated with this? Once I buy the car what do I need to do & pay to legally drive it?

As I understand it I'll need to pay rego, ownership transfer- do I need to pay road-tax? It's so confusing!

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated by me.

    Thanks.

    Lou.

Rego is road tax pretty much and is based on the make, model, size of engine etc. You can pay for 6 or 12 months at a time.

Change of ownership is a small percentage of the amount you paid for the vehicle and isn't worth worrying about.

After that, it's up to you whether you want to get fully comp insurance for yourself or not.
