Which satellite offers free HD along with sd french tv channels, Want to combine both french and 28.2 free sat channels on one dish and not sure if 19.2e or 13.0e would be best option, thanks.

FTA French HD? Not a chance afaik; check out the 5 deg. west & 9 east positions.

Arte HD is all you would get FTA on Hotbird or Astra 1

French FTV HD TV with a Fransat HD Box + FTV Card pointed at 5 west. OR a HD TNT Sat Box + FTV card pointed at Astra 1. the cards last 4 years.

Thank god for a serious answer! This is the best solution, I think there is also a BIS card as well for 13 east hotbird. No real FTA solution but only FTV (Free to view with a card)

There is a rumour or report that the Fransat FTV cards (unknown period) last longer than the the TNT cards (five years).

Available in French supermarkets.
