Before I got injured I used to be a racist. Anything from the 100 metres to the marathon, I'd race it. Aw man, I was racist in the Phoenix Park, Santry Stadium, the Community Games, the Dublin Marathon, anywhere there were races, I'd be there.

What injury stopped you being racist? Was it a knee injury? Perhaps arrow related?

This probably is not the place to ask a serious question, but...

I'm from the United States and, sadly, don't have much knowledge of things outside of the US. In the US - whenever race talks come up, people point out that blacks commit significantly more violent crimes than hispanics (who commit more violent crime than whites (who commit more violent crime than asians))...

And, naturally, the counter argument is that it isn't about race but social-economic status and that, because of the history of the US, blacks (for example) are more likely to be poor and that is the reason for increased crime.

Can anyone tell me if there are similar patterns here in Ireland? Per capita, which races commit the most crimes and is there a similar history of racism against those groups that might explain higher crime rates?

Over ten years ago I was talking to the former Mountjoy warden and he told me that 80+ percent of the prisoners came from 5 major black spots in the country.

I remember reading on boards someone saying if a black person from Tallaght turns out to be a scumbag is it because he's from Tallaght or because he's black?

I'd image the USA also has their blackspots but their blackspots are made up of black people.

Theres also a genetics question too but it's not too researched and very un-PC so wont discuss that.
