Another thing....when setting it up on WDTV it asks for a zip code in the credit card details tab,I entered the zip code for New York 11597.
Also just changed my DNS to 208.122.23.22 and it connected.

Of the top of my head they have Gurren Lagann. The ghost in the shell tv show, Afro Samurai and few others I've never heard of. In terms of feature films there's the haruhi movie, Ghost in the shell, summer wars, sky crawlers and The girl who leapt through time. Not much of a selection but hopefully it'll improve over time. You can always check with the free month trial anyway.

They have about 20 titles in the anime section on the Irish Netflix. If you can get the unblockus working on your PS3, they have 75 titles. All 220 episodes of Naruto are up there (j-audio, ENG subs).

I wonder if US blocker can be relied on to work indefinitely. I can see this causing issues in the long term. I assume it's basically a transparent proxy which is chosen by referencing their DNS servers.

On a small scale this is fine, and in the case of Canada->US, internet links are probably more than sufficient. However if large numbers of UK and Irish subscribers start using it, suddenly we'll have huge amounts of traffic bypassing whatever caching systems Netflix have installed on this side of the Atlantic.

At the moment it suits Netflix to turn a blind eye to this to get more Canadian subscribers and a few odd people around the world. I just wonder what happens when tens of thousands of us start doing it...

I'm not saying don't do it, after all it's $5 per month, not a lot, and you can cancel at any time. I'm just doing some technical speculation.

    Ix.

Has anyone got Netflix running through a Bravia Internet TV at all yet? Is it even possible?

Whether I bother with it at this stage depends on whether it works through the TV or not.

Using UnblockUs (works great!) but it doesn't seem to link to my Facebook account like when I'm watching something on Irish Netflix, any idea how to fix that? My friends and I have liked seeing what eachother are watching and recommending!

Does anyone know I Netflix will get new releases as quick as xtravision?? If they don't then to me it's not worth it.

Does anyone know how I can use my irish ID on the US site? I saw a few people posting here.

Bearing in mind I am very slow at computers.

'Not worth it' is probably a bad choice of words.

It's 6.99 a month for unlimited viewings of movies with no time restraints... as opposed to renting 1 DVD for what... 8 or so euro? And having to bring it back within an allotted timeframe?

It's actually been so long since I even contemplated renting anything so my numbers may be off.

I do love that people's major issue is with so many old movies and lack of choice.

Christ almighty - have the same people seen Sky Movies lately? I don't subscribe as it's a bloody rip-off at €35 a month but girlfriend's parents have it.. and they had Tron Legacy on every second night over Christmas. And it's not just newer movies - Kate and f*cking Leopold!

Am chuffed with Netflix myself.. far better than the alternatives at a fraction of the price!

How new are the movies on the US site?

Nope but using unblockus you can sign up for VUDU which is a movie rental service that is meant to have movies out asap. New releases seem to be for rent for $3.99 SD or $4.99 HD. You get the rental for 2 nights and streams instantly. You can also use your irish credit card.

This might be closer to an xtravision rival...

On my 6000 series Smart TV no joy. The latest available firmware is 001016 which would appear short of the required 001021 -:(

So, anybody got a 7000/8000 series model where Netflix is available ? Even better, did anybody get Netflix working on a 6000 series ?

Not sure I 100% agree; some films are on Netflix US before they are on DVD here.

I had a 6 which I loved for picture but apps were not good, got an 8 and I absolutely LOVE it. Greatest thing I've ever owned!

When you can, get an 8, until then a ps3 or appletv is cheap enough and also well worth it (IMO ps3 is the best value)

Its 4 euro's now. Having unlimited viewing of old movies is fine but its not much use for when new releases come out.

Using AVG antivirus on my pc, US unblock was picked up as a threat requesting moving the app to the vault - which I didn't - but if anyone has any problems with app working on their pc this could be the cause if their anti virus blocks it automatically...
