Video problem when watching RTE Player

Whenever I try to watch videos on certain sites such as the RTÉ player (and sometimes on other sites with embedded videos) the video flickers and jumps around. It's completely impossible to watch. YouTube is fine, but it's sites like RTÉ's which won't work. Strangely enough, however, the advertisements before the video will work fine, just the show itself won't. Some details:

Same problem in Firefox 9.0.1 and Chrome.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.

    4 gb ram

Crappy graphics card in my laptop

    15 MBps connection speed

Here is a video that I uploaded to YouTube to demonstrate the problem. The problem gets worse as the video goes on and starts properly around 14s. Hopefully somebody can help, this has been going on for ages.

Are your video card drivers up to date? Also update the Flash player as well and see if things improve. Sounds to me like you need to update your video card driver though! Also youtube can be set to use HTML5 video and not Flash, which uses different acceleration techniques afaik

Thanks for the reply. Flash is up to date, but I just updated my driver and it's marginally better when not in fullscreen, but no better when in fullscreen.

Whats the entire laptop specs? CPU, Video Chipset etc. It could just be the laptop isn't up to the task of video playback smoothly, a Celeron CPU and integrated Intel Video wouldn't suprise me if it was choppy. How does it work in Internet Explorer out of interest? IE uses a different plugin to Chrome/FF

Celeron Dual-core 2.1Ghz processor (T3500), 4gb ram, Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family are the main specs.

Tried IE8, same problem as Firefox and Chrome.

I think its the system thats at fault in this case, are all drivers including chipset ones definately installed? Did you install Windows 7 yourself or did the machine come with it?
