If you sign up for it can you use the one account across multiple devices? Say WDTV live plus in one room and a PS3 in another? Or is it tied to the one device?

Yes, you can watch on as many of these devices as you want. You can only watch on one at a time.

I tried watching on my PS3 and ipad at the same time - worked no problem and I was signed into the same account on both devices.

Yep, I started watching a film on the desktop PC, didn't like the quality so moved to Android phone and it picked up where I left. :D

3V Prepaid credit card might work, although you can't top them up. I signed up using my Moneybookers card.

    Complete crap isn't.

Icefilms and Xbmc are free and they have 100 times the amount of stuff.

Selection of films is worse than freeview:D

Ahh give it time, they'll improve the selection (hopefully).

I saw 'The Expendables' and 'Starship Troopers' in the list so I was happy :pac:

Which version is better between 360 and ps3?

Works surprisingly well on the xbox, in hd aswel. For 6.99 though I'm not sure.
It's not as good as sky go.

It may work on IP address, so if all your devices are linked via a router with only one external IP address then I'd assume that you would be able to stream from multiple devices. Was your Android phone accessing the internet through your home Wifi or otherwise? That may make the difference...

To be fair.. it's just starting and it's practically a fifth of the price of a Sky Movies sub.

The Moneybookers Mastercard is only €10 p.a. I think, you just need to verify your address and bank account etc. Very handy.

since the new xbox dash was introduced, there have been a lot of complaints about video quality. until it's fixed ps3 is the better way to go

Tom Dunne mentioned Netflix this morning and invited texts and comments about it and the implications for the DVD rental industry.
So I imagine a discussion will be forthcoming.

nah it's on the netflix side, gives a better customer experience if they can move from one device to another wihtout having to worry about where they are in the programme.

They also seem to manage the download from what I've seen as it only downloads a % more of the programme then you are currrently at, rather then the whole thing, thus saving your ISP download allowance in case you don't watch the full programme

Yeah but sky go is free along as you know someone who has it.
I would not recommend anyone to pay for it.
netflix seems grand, will see how the month goes.

Yes.. but essentially someone is paying for that Sky sub!

Netflix is free too as long as you use someone else's account! :D

Would someone be better off buying a Logitech Revue or an Apple TV to use with netflix?

I find if I search for something I'm interested in I probably won't find it :) , but if I just go with the flow and flick through the movies/TV on offer I'll find something to watch. It'll be good for "grazing time" when you're flopped down in front of the TV.

Actually, that's a good way of looking at it. I'll stop searching for stuff, and just try browsing instead. I might even find some hidden gems I'd never heard of.

    Oh, I stand corrected..

.. I thought they always offered a free trial (similarly to those DVD Rental sites).

Very disappointing selection on Netflix - there's dozens & dozens of choices, but just look at the dates on the movies as you scroll through. You'd see more up to date on terrestrial TV.

I wouldn't choose to watch any of them - would prefer to channel hop on terrestrial & find something more interesting, rather than invest 90 mins watching a 5-10 yearold movie.

For the price of a pint per month however, probably worth keeping.

Brand new service to Ireland though. It will take them a while to sign agreements with all the relevant movie makers / distributors.

You're right about the price. Worth a shot...

What's wrong with 5-10 year old movies?
