That's the only one. No special reason really. I remember I was out of school one day, sick, and that came on the radio, I welled up. Was confused afterwards. Has always stuck in my mind.

    It's OK to be gay...

Actually that's just seriously depressing shit. I'm talking about music bringing you to tears because it's awesome and/or beautiful, not depressing lyrics and downbeat chords making you suicidal in bed on a rainy day.

I should have made that clear: no Emo shit please. I'm talking about music.

Have shed a tear to this song more then once so I get ya!! Ha its one of those extremely meaning songs.

This used to use it for tribute videos on WWE television like they did with Eddie gueurro and Chris beniot.

Wat the Feck made you cry then ?

It didn't make me cry. Actually I didn't even shed a tear, but I "welled up" as they say. (look at the thread title, it's not about crying like that fucking Beach Movie style... just bringing tears to your eyes is all.)

But I would prefer if people didn't post depressing Nirvana shit like I'M A FREAK etc. etc. that is actually manufactured by depressed people for depressed people.

I guess we all have different tastes. I thought that video was pretty boring. Anyway it's not important for you to post the videos that made your eyes well up, I'm just interested in the poll.

This did, once I thought about what it meant.

Yes, I know. Stereotypical Yank. But for the life of me I can't seem to help it now. But only this song.

Well it's mainly the instrumental side of it, when the uilleann pipe solo blasts in even my arsehole wells up with scutter. The lyrics also play a part I suppose, the story of a young volunteer brought home dead in tatters... has more depth that "oh... why does it always rain on me... why did my girlfriend break up with me..."

Different things can affect it, like what mood you're in, what the music means to you, and stuff like that. That Mary Black thing sounds like the sort of depressing stuff that you didn't want posted...

Tis a matter of tashte I guess. But I really hate that Coldplay shit... anything else is fine, even your video. I hardly expect to feel tears from every video that's posted here, same as yourself I'm sure. But as I explained, that Mary Black song has nice music, and the lyrics aren't about or related to depression like lots of other singer songwriters that may bring tears to a hipster's eye.

The Xmas No1 had a lot of play in my home, we just loved their emotive voices, and yes it brought us to tears.Thinking of their loved ones and making their efforts go to charity who wouldn`t cry.

Had the pleasure of watching this piece of music being performed live-it was the first time I'd heard it... Michael Manring's The Enormous Room and it was all I could do to keep the tears in!

Whatever it is about that piece, it (still!) has the ability to make me shed a tear when I listen to it....soulstillingly beautiful. (or so I reckon anyhoo...!)

My 'no' should actually be a 'yes', I thought the OP meant actually crying.

A lot of songs have brought tears to my eyes from shear awesomeness.
In fact, just 5 minutes ago "15 step" did. What a brilliant song :)

Lack of sleep may have been a contributing factor though, it tends to exaggerate my feelings
