howye I have a 2003 VW Transporter 2.5tdi currently a campervan project - my particular van came in a very de-tuned "very economy focussed" format @ 88bhp via smaller injectors and minus the intercooler

A very popular safe and proven upgrade by those in the vw van scene in the US and UK lifts output to 135-150bhp and keeps the economy numbers (depending on usual variable factors condition etc.) by swopping in larger injectors and adding the intercooler which I've completed.

The last part of the equation is to book a session on a rolling road and have the ecu remapped to bring it all in line. There's a crowd in the UK who do VW vans like mine all day long but I have no "excuses" coming up soon for a wee trip :) and sterling bad as we all know

SO anyone know of someone with the facilities to do this work on the island of Ireland? (would go north no bother)

    many thanks!
    Martin

These days remapping evolved quite a bit (I know as I work with it). It's done by adjusting curtain codes in ecu (Engine Control Unit) and the more experience tuner has the better results you will get from him plus less risk for him to fail. So look for tuning companies who can offer quality maps. They can even come to your doorstep bringing same results as in garage for the same price. Type in Google - remapping Dublin and you will get the results you want.

Just looking at your website there. You say you don't use generic off the shelf maps but yet you buy off the shelf maps from black code? Also tuning from a data logging is a compromise and close enough in engine management isn't good enough.

I've seen enough maps from various UK 'experts' to know there are very few people in this business that are actually any good. There are a small handful of guys in this country that are very good and each of them live tune on a dyno. A lad in a van pulling up outside your house is only a cowboy looking to get on the gravy train
