    Hi Guys

I recently purchased a FS-4000v2 freeview box, a FSKUHD-S1L universal single LNBF and Nikkai satellite finder. having connected a cable from the receiver to the satellite finder I left the power on lighting up the display and powering the finder. then i connected a jumper cable from the LNB to the finder but once the wire touched the finders terminal the finder turned off as well as turning off the receiver. I have since realised that the power should be off while connecting the finder cables but having tried this after and switching on the receiver it fails power up. I am not sure have I either damaged the satellite finder or is it a problem with the receiver box. any help will be much appreciated thanks.

If its a freeview box its no good for satellite. You need a satellite free to air box or a freesat box. Freeview is for uk digital via an aerial only.

It's a sat. box, give people some credit. http://www.fortecstar.com/fs_4000v2.html

OP, maybe you have a short circuit (braid touching inner conductor) in the connection that caused the problem.
