    Monster Munch

    Skips

    To name but two.

Name any other food that has lost its taste due to different reasons.

Pringles sour cream and onion. The flavour doesn't taste the same, its milder and I'm pretty sure the Pringles have got smaller.

Are ya stuck in a moment and no matter how you try you just can't get out of it?

Tayto, it's awful, has been for many years.
Banshee bones - a shadow of their former selves.

I have a suspicion that multipack Freddo bars are ever so slightly smaller than normal Freddos. The taste remains the same, sure, but there's less of Freddo to be eaten.

    It's a fupping disgrace.

Apple Muller Rice. Ever since they changed the label they're not half as nice.

Coke, for a real cola taste you need sugar cane, I think they use high-fructose corn syrup now, it used to taste way better years ago anyway, Jones Cola ftw.

Hula Hoops and Pringles in general, especially Salt and Vinegar. Hula Hoops have been different for a while but I only noticed the Pringles recently. Thought it was a one off but the next two were the same. Used to love them, now I rarely even get them anymore.

Chickatee's! They've lost that little kick.

On a brighter note Fruit Gums have come back as hard as ever!:)

Have they? I hadn't noticed and they've always been one of my favourites, could never understand why they never have larger bags like Meanies do though.

Agree with Pringles, Monster Munch (It's their real name, shut up!) and Skips also.

Yeah they seem to me to taste a little more bland these days. Your average Centra/Mace do six pack packs for like 2€.

Kebabs (Only the chipper ones in Ireland).

When my dad used to get them years ago, when I was "too small" to have one. The sauce they used was spectacular. I know they use Chili and Garlic and it might be the same but just doesn't taste the same.

lion bar. it's just not the same anymore

    Catch bars.

Wham! bars. They kept reducing the amount of fizz lumps in them. Last one I bought had literally one single lump at one end and the rest of the bar was lump free. Never bought one again. I know companies reduce things to cut costs, including the size of the product - hoping no one will notice - but they must really think us dumb to reduce it that much and act like nothing happened.

i second the roses one. Where did it all go wrong? Or is it that they had more value back in the day and now they're everywhere nobody wants them? Why do they all taste the same now?:(

Very few food items sell without a blouse on it nowadays .When i saw them dipping chips into little bowls i knew the days of good food are near the end. I remember new potatoes that did'nt need ANYTHING on them . Meat fat , dairy and salt and sugars and one or two other items and if removed ...eating would be a chore without them . The Food Industry is very clever these days . Fresh Corn on the Cob from usa is nice on it's own but difficult to find . Health Food is dull but the rubbish is at least interesting .Any ideas .?

And why did Roses remove the nicer flavours,
we all know that there are a few dairymilk, purple ones and nut/caramel things taken
and then the tin is just about full of strawberry (orange cream?), hard toffee and fudge..
And the chocolate on them is not nice, big difference between the Irish dairy milk bars at the counter and the smaller waxy dairy milk chocolates made in England.

Same debacle with the Bassettes Mint collection, a few mint toffees and ten black victor mints or whatever those horrible old man sweets are called.

But let it be said we are in very tricky territory I'm sure some of this stuff is the same and just doesn't taste as nice now you've grown up.

Wibbly wobbly wonders and loop the loops are horrible now. All HB ice cream..
Mini milks have lost their charm.

Foods that I think havent changed so much but they were nicer when I was younger.
    Breast milk,
    Rusks,
    liqudised food... :pac: okay okay
    Pringles.
    Haribo.
    Milk bottles.
    Pixie sticks.
    Lanky Larrys.
    Refreshers.
    Meanies.(all crisps)
    Chipper chips.
    Cidona and lilt

Roy of the Rovers bars. They dissapeared off the face of the earth and some blonde haired imposter returned.

    Damn him to hell

I was all for the campaign to bring back Spring Onion flavoured Tayto, they were my fave back in the day. However when they came out again recently, they were tasteless and flavourless. I think the reason they were popular was they had a stronger flavour than the original tayto. Pity bout the remake.

All Tayto products (and crisp/snack products) are losing their taste. I love when I get a rogue packet and there's a wedge of flavouring stuck in the corner at the bottom of the pack. Probably full of additives and artificialessness but who cares.

As well as changing the recipe, they've also cut down on the variety of sweets.
I remember as a kid there was, among others, marzipan, noisette whirl, bournville, montelimar and the infamous coffee creme (which I liked, though I knew it wasn't at the level of the others).

Now they have three or four very similar caramel sweets; the dairy milk and the hazelnut whirl which are basically the same as latter has so little nut; then you've just got the orange one (meh) and the strawberry one to provide a little variety. And the fudge and toffee ones, but they're similar to the caramel sweets. And this year there was only two of the great brazil nut sweets in the tin! I thought it was a fluke but it was the same in a friends' tin. I guess they're phasing it out. :(

I guess they're playing it safe and not having too many potentially divisive flavours. But the problem is that they all taste the same now, and you need the coffee cremes of this world to appreciate the better things.

Golden Nuggets. They're rubbish now, whereas in the 70s they'd nearly take the teeth out of your mouth :D

Magnums. The ones you get in LIDL are much nicer now.

Monster Munch (It's their real name, shut up!)

Yes its their real name but a different company is making monster munch now, the originals are being sold as mighty munch
    wiki wrote:
In Ireland, the major potato crisp and corn snack brand Tayto made a spicy flavoured corn snack with the name "Monster Munch". Upon the movement of Walkers into the Irish market in the 1990s, the name "Monster Munch" was purchased from Tayto. Thereafter, Tayto changed the name of their snack to "Mighty Munch" to differentiate between the Tayto and Walker snacks.
