    hi
as the title says, I need to change my car battery.
should i goto halfords as they can fit it too?
or get a used battery from scrapyard and get it fixed by a local mechanic?
    any suggestions?

Consort Motor factors do a good brand (cant recall make) for €55 .. I'm sure they would pop it in for you too as they are such helpful guys (shops in Finglas, Drumcondra and Artane ..)

Anywhere half decent should be able to supply a battery for a Polo. VW do an economy range of batteries made by Exide which are pretty good and reasonably priced.

To give you an idea of what to expect on price price yours is probably a 44ah battery, we stock the VW Economy battery @ approx €65 or a cheaper make for €50. We don't usually charge for fitting a battery unless it is something like a BMW X5 where it is buried underneath the spare wheel and air suspension reservoir. Fitting on a Polo would be FOC.
