Software to play MP4 on Win XP

    Got a new toy as agift for xmas - Its a Easypix 527 Camcorder

    Transferred recordings to PC and unable to play MP4

    Have downloaded several different codec's , like handbrake , Final Media Player , any codec converter , but nothing that will play the MP4 files .

    Emailed a recording to a guy with Windows 7 and it plays no problem .

    I have an Intel Pentium 4 - XP - SP3

    Anyone help ?

    Have you tried VLC Player ? It can playback MP4 files.

    Thanks Zener , - I sent an email to the manufacturers and they wrote back recommending VLC player too.

    I have downloaded it , , and it does play , but still have some difficulties with it .

    Would have preferred if it was possible to use Windows Media . -but no luck so far .

    You could try this plugin from Nero !

    Though I thought that WMP could play .mp4 out of the box ? Are they DRM protected files by any chance ?
