    lol

As soon as you squeeze one out you're an 'aul wan', whether you're 15 or 35.

An aul wan is always considered past her prime in my view. It goes like this...

    Hot and young=Yummy Mummy
Starting to age but still got it=MILF

That mother looks like a Yummy Mummy to me.

The news is always so depressing, and think it's nice to have something light hearted on. The birth of a healthy beautiful new baby is a great start to the new year, long may the tradition continue.

I remember on my 3rd pregnancy, after loosing 2 babies, being in one of the Dublin maternity hospitals, I was bleeding really badly and was waiting to be told I had lost a baby again. It was New years Eve and myself and hubby spent five hours waitin to see a doc. We were the only people in the hospital in the waiting area. All the staff were buzzing around at midnight, ringing around all over the country to see who had the first baby of the new year, they were all so excited. At 12.10 that morning I was told my baby was alive. I remember the porters and receptionists given me a hug as it was good news and the hubby nearly passing out with delight.

Slightly off the point but sod you moaners, bet your mammies would have been delighted to show you all off it you were the first baby born in the new year.

The family are good friends of mine. I really am shocked to See some of the comments here. I reckon any one who has posted a negative comment has no child, and doesn't realise the joy birth brings. It was an eventful birth, with an unplanned section. Congratulations to the three of them.

"Eventful birth" possibly means she was too long in labour and they don't like that in hospitals, so off she goes for a c section.

She was born by caesarean I heard- isn't that cheating a bit!? :p

Initially what I thought, but it was obviously an emergency if it was done at that time.

By the afternoon, the top story on Today FM new bulletins was about how all the new charges had kicked in since midnight.
What a great wat to start the New Year by the media, let's all wallow in more misery, it not even ****in news since everything was announced since the Budget.

Christ, I hate the media in this country.

    As the snow flies
On a cold and gray Dublin mornin'
A poor little baby child is born
    In the ghetto
    And his mama cries
'Cause if there's one thing that she don't need
It's another hungry mouth to feed
    In the ghetto

    People, don't you understand
The child needs a helping hand
Or he'll grow to be an angry young man some day
Take a look at you and me,
Are we too blind to see,
Do we simply turn our heads
    And look the other way

    Well the world turns
And a hungry little boy with a runny nose
Plays in the street as the cold wind blows
    In the ghetto

    And his hunger burns
So he starts to roam the streets at night
and he learns how to steal
And he learns how to fight
    In the ghetto

    Then one night in desperation
    A young man breaks away
He buys a gun, steals a car,
Tries to run, but he don't get far
    And his mama cries

As a crowd gathers 'round an angry young man
Face down on the street with a gun in his hand
    In the ghetto

    As her young man dies,
On a cold and gray Dublin mornin',
Another little baby child is born
    In the ghetto

I think it's a lovely idea to see the new babies born on New Years eve....:)
    Always makes me smile...

Enough bullish*t as well as doom and gloom going on in the world not to have 5 mins for a happy event in the news...

Congrats to all the New Year parents!
