As mentioned beforehand never liked Liverpool but always respected them, if however they knew of this evidence before they issued that statement they are shocking and a disgrace.

There is absolutely nothing conclusive at all in that report. 115 pages of vaguely justifying basing the whole decision on the word of one person over the other. A person the FA themselves have previously found to be unreliable.

you'd need to look at the fa rules to see their definition of what is necessary in disciplinary tribunals to find someone guilty of an offence. if the findings here aren't in line with those guidelines, then liverpool could have a case against the fa using their own regulations, which liverpool subscribe to as members of the football association. if those rules find that the findings are in compliance with them, then there's absolutely nothing liverpool can do, aside from taking a case with the court for sporting arbitration to get the rules changed - but that wouldn't apply retrospectively

Furthermore his threats to Suarez also break the same rule that Suarez is supposed to have broken. Minimum 4 game ban by the FA's own words.

Ok, you know more then the courts of law.

Fantastic, and to think, some people think of Liverpool fans as deluded...

You would want to calm down a bit, you have totally overestimated what the decision means and also what civil court decisions mean, then aren't conclusions of proof and don't pretend to be.

They are basically guesswork on the behalf of the judge or jury, or commission in this case. They took days to decide who to believe and came down on Evras side, then imo appear to have written this report carefully wording every item to back up their decision. Going on about how Evra was fouled on his bad knee etc, I mean wtf!

They say they found Suarez evasive, although possibly because he couldn't directly understand the question in English. 'possibly', ffs.

If it had gone the other way it wouldn't have 'conclusively proved' that Evra had made it all up. Just that they believed Suarez, nothing more.

The whole thing stinks imo, I personally didn't believe that they had absolutely nothing to go on except Evras word and then bringing experts in to say that what Evra said Suarez said could be construed as racist. Farcical.

They've labelled the man a racist for life in certain peoples eyes on the word of one person previously described by themselves as an unreliable witness.

Considering all the lessons liverpool supporters have given on how a phrase doesn't has a different literal meaning to how it is used in spanish, i would have thought you would know how the phrase was used:rolleyes:

It's a pretty damning report all in all.

Suarez said that he kicked Evra because he's black. That's reprehensible and I think it's fair to conclude that if Suarez kicks someone because they're black, then he's a racist. That's much worse than any verbally racist behavior, that has previously been discussed on here.
Mr Evra's evidence was that, in response to his question "Why did you kick me?", Mr Suarez replied "Porque tu eres negro". Mr Evra said that at the time Mr Suarez made that comment, he (Mr Evra) understood it to mean "Because you are a ******". He now says that he believes the words used by Mr Suarez mean "Because you are black".

I hope Liverpool do the decent thing and apologize for the incident now, there's no need to keep dragging the club's name through the mud.

er I think you confused, Evra was saying what he said Suarez said to him, so you are assuming Evra is telling the truth. He could be lying.
    90. We shall consider further below Mr Evra's understanding of the Spanish word "negro".

    91. Mr Suarez said that he replied to Mr Evra's question "Why did you kick me?" by saying "que habia sido una falta normal", meaning "it was just a normal foul". He said he shrugged his shoulders and put his arms out in a gesture to say that there was nothing serious about it. At this point on the video footage, Mr Suarez's face is obscured, but he does appear to shrug his shoulders.

Apparently it was something like that but Suarez didn't make a complaint about it - probably lost in translation:)

    Best read the evidence first.

    Sorry missed a bit

According to Mr Suarez, Mr Comolli misheard what Mr Suarez said in Spanish, and Mr Kuyt misheard what Mr Suarez said in Dutch."
    "Mr Comolli confirmed under cross-examination
that he believed that what he was told by Mr Suarez in this meeting was that the words he
had used to Mr Evra translated as "Why, because you are black"."

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,968 ✭✭✭✭mike65

    Suarez didn't hear it apparently.
Mr Evra and Mr Suarez are agreed that they spoke to each other in Spanish in the
goalmouth. Mr Evra said that he is not exactly fluent in Spanish but that he can easily
converse in Spanish. For Mr Suarez, Spanish is his native language as a Uruguayan. Mr
Evra told us that he began the conversation by saying "Concha de tu hermana". Mr Evra's
evidence was that this is a phrase used in Spanish like when you say "****ing hell" English, but the literal translation is "your sister's pussy". Mr Suarez did not hear Mr Evra say this. One of the video clips that we have seen, taken from a close up angle behind the goal, does appear to support Mr Evra's evidence that he started the conversation with this comment.

    88. Mr Suarez said that he did not hear this first comment from Mr Evra but that he heard him
whispering something. Mr Suarez told us that he then said "What did you say?" It does
seem from the video footage that Mr Suarez does say something at this point in response
    to Mr Evra's opening comment.

Sorry, yes typo, will correct it now.

The FA have stated though that they found Evra's version to be reliable.

Liverpool fans defending a proven racist is digusting.

It has brought shame to a great club know for great football and great players.

Now it will be known as racist.

People on here should hang their heads in shame for supporting Suarez.

He should take his punishment like a man and keep his head down.

    Disgraceful behaviour by Liverpool fans.

Shame on you all. Absolutely digusting

Nah, I prefer when posters actually respond to what I post, I never mentioned civil courts but the 2 above read what they want into it.

A decision in a civil case, on the balance of probabilities is not utterly conclusive, its a retarded equation to make.

Presumably you are basing this on the report? Assuming you believe things in it as 'proven' which is laughable. Then Suarez is proven not to be a racist, as that's what they concluded.

The rest of your post is disgusting by the way.

I assume that you have read none of this report then? The report, which is an interesting read and has had my attention for a couple of hours now clearly states that the FA do not feel Suarez is racist. You should really think before you post as I am sure there are a lot of people who could take offence at your post. Shame on you all? You should read the report, get some balance and then come back to us.

Liverpool will probably release the follow statement:-

We Liverpool Football Club would like to make it clear that Mr.Evra is racist. Before making this statement we have went to extreme measures to gather evidence and can now supply it. It has become clear that Mr.Evra recently rented the film "White Men can't jump". In addition to renting this movie we would like to point out that it was due back two days ago.

Childish tit for tat. What's disgusting about his post? Obviously its a bit ott and the evidence is vague. But what if proven is true then It's not far off the mark. If its not true still didn't make it "disgusting".

War of the keyboards here... this is not a Liverpool v Manchester United thing.

Somebody getting all high and mighty about something clearly self evident................hmmmmmmmmmmm :D Your familiar with him on the United thread!

Liverpool is a racist club because a group of 3 people believe what Evra says over Suarez isn't far off the mark? Good to know.
