We should include Downing into some deal with Bent.

The same guy just said that Liverpool are still interested in Scott Sinclair.

Downing at least has some ability, I'd rather include Henderson.

    on what grounds ?

Can you not see that Henderson is going to develop into a very good midfielder ?

Downing is going to develop into a slower more useless winger.

Think further ahead than next week.

    .

So certain of that or wishful thinking ?

Certain. He won't be as good as Gerrard but the transfer will look like great business a year or two down the line.

I think it would be fair to say that Henderson has a lot more potential to be a good player in the future than Downing has, given their respective ages, but I think it is a stretch to say that he will develop into a very good midfielder as a lot can happen either way in terms of development with most young players in a year or two.

Granted there are a small number of players that just look and are pretty amazing from their late teens onwards and pretty much slot into senior teams from that age, but Henderson is not one of those talents and I think that whilst he does have the ability and potential to be good in time, he is not a banker to be very good in one or two years.

I do hope you get proven right though and then some.

While it remains only reported on twitter, I'm not gonna worry about it. Plenty of similar rumours fly around with nothing ever coming from them.

    Very silly boy if true.

Two kids would tie him to the area. Sounds good to me.

    Yeah saw that earlier.

    Newcastle line up:

    Krul
    Simpson Williamson Collocini Taylor
    Guttierez Cabaye Tiote Obertan
    Vuckic Demba Ba

Vuckic is a very good player with a cracking left foot.

Donnelly has signed for Swansea .

Mark my words he won't be with them long and I expect Swansea to make a massive profit on the £100k paid within 2yrs

Kenny Dalglish confirms that the Liverpool squad will be wearing condoms before their next match in solidarity with Raheem Sterling.

Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Skrtel, Agger, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Downing, Carroll, Bellamy.

Subs: Doni, Maxi, Kuyt, Gerrard, Carragher, Shelvey, Kelly.

Happy to see Bellamy, Carroll and Downing. Looks like a 433 to me which will give Adam and Henderson a lot of time and space to get forward.

Very happy with that, we were crying out for a 3 man midfield. Bet we get a better performance out of Adam as a result.

Wonder which Charlie Adam is gonna show up .

Anything less than excellent in that midfield and I fear the worst .

This formation very much suits Henderson and Adam. They should have a lot of the ball with only Cabaye and Tiote up against them (It'll be tough to break them down there). I think the flanks are where we could get a lot of joy. Bellamy and Downing are interchangeable and I'd be disappointed if they weren't switching positions with each other all night.

Bellamy against Taylor is key. Taylor is not the quickest player

Pretty damn good stat piece on where it's going wrong! Downing doesn't come out of it as bad as I'd thought. The lack of players willing to take on their man is pretty telling. Nobody does really barring Suarez and Enrique. I suppose it shows how the football is about pass and move and a lot of counter attacking.

Nobody think we may see 442 with Henderson out right again?

It wouldn't make any sense whatsoever imo. If Carroll stays up top and doesnt come deep the 4-3-3 is perfect.

I love how Enrique plays. I know this is probably premature but I don't think I would swap him for any left back in the world right now.

    Nice one...

Scoring more than 2 since Bolton at home... in August. And we hit the crossbar yet again. Great to see Stevie back.

    Good game good game!

I'm starting to have sexy man love for Martin Skrtle and that's not a good thing to type out loud. Great to see El Capitano back and so full of running, while I can fully understand Dalglish wanting to ease him back I dunno if we can afford that luxury. he only has to hold out till May!

Fine performances from Luis Enrique, Glen Johnson who is also really back on song this season, Jay Spearing and Craig Bellamy of course - the freebie transfer of the season.
