    "A duck's quack doesn't echo....and no one knows why."

Drives me mad when someone repeats this utter tripe as fact. Think about it logically for 2 seconds FFS!

There was a guy here some time ago who used to put forward some weird opinion and then finish it with the word FACT - having pretty much no idea what the word implied...

That and Fox News "Fair and balanced" or whatever it is.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

"Now is a great time to buy a house"

(One of the Government ministers, possibly Batt O'Keefe, Summer 2007; I think Bertie repeated it)

    "Dogs can't look up."

I think this originated as a joke, but I've had a number of people claim it as a fact.

There was also the time when I was asked on a phone survey when the last time I'd been inside a branch of a particular bank.
    I said "about six months."

The woman on the other end replied "Six months!? That's practically half a year."

Now, I have to go back to work on my State of the Union speech. And I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I'm going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you

    WTF!

Anyone who throws a wobbler in a shop, claiming to be legally entitled to a refund just because they changed their mind (often threatening to sue the shop too)

No - she didn't have a virgin birth.
Don't tell anyone but thats actually a translation misconception!

'I'm doing a degree with the Open University'
'The Open University? Is that an actual university'?

That, in a population of about 3 billion people from the sex you are attracted to, you'll still only have one 'soul mate' in life.

In addition we have been told several times since the crash that property prices have hit bottom by a variety of interested parties.

OK. Just how much choice do you need? ;) 2 billion potential "soul mates". The idea of there being only one of these people for somebody is delusionally romantic nonsense.
