recycle waste rigid board insulation?

    does anyone know if rigid board insulation and insulated plasterboards (both Xtratherm) can be recycled in council run recycle centres? I've trie to get through to the recycle centre outside Portlaoise but not getting anyone.

    Im sure they all have the same policies around the country but here in Donegal they wont accept the styrofoam packaging for example. When I asked how would I get rid of it they told me to break it up and put into the "general waste" wheelie bin.

    Again most Councils will be closed till Jan. 2 but the recycling centres should be open tomorrow and Friday.

    I was under the impression that PIR/PUR boards are not recyclable, while you may find a dump to take them, that's where the stuff will stay - in the dump..

    Has anyone else had any updated experience on this? I have a fair bit of waste to get rid of and I doubt the local recycling centre will take it all?
