Chris Whelpdale has split his scrotum

Gillingham winger Chris Whelpdale suffered an unusual injury in the 2-1 Boxing Day win at Crawley, as a tackle split open his scrotum.

"It's a horrific injury," boss Andy Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent.

"It's absolutely disgusting. He's going to be very sore, and I'm sure his wife won't be too happy either."

So AH, what was your most leg crossing, eye watering injury?

Im lucky enough to not have had any serious injuries ever so thinking of my most painful one is hard. Probably when I fell off my bike as a kid some time. (I sat here thinking for nearly 5 mins trying to find one :pac:)

As for just the most pain I was ever in.. Probably the second time I got pneumonia. I really just felt like collapsing and dying sitting in that dull hospital corridor for over 2 hours puking my guts up waiting to see a doctor, and this was AFTER I went through the A&E waiting room process. My entire body was in pain inside and out. So damn sick. Funnily enough, they told me that it was a lot more minor than the first time I got it. But boy did it feel 100 times worse.
Lesson learned, dont use Kilkenny hospital, straight down to Waterford with the lot of ye! :cool:

Related to scrotom: When my older brother was about 8 he twisted his testicles or something to that effect while playing football. :eek:

I've heard about this.

Testicular torsion.

Never met anyone who lived through it though, I've just heard the stories.

Apparently a common time for it to happen is in your sleep, so you wake in piercing agony not knowing what the f*ck is going on.

Heard a story yesterday about a lad who got his hip dislocated by a bad rugby tackle,physio comes over and tells him he's going to pop it back in to place.He does this and the lad starts roaring in pain turns out one of his testicles got trapped when the physio put his hip back in place.They had to kick his hip back out to free the trapped testicle.

Heard that story on here ages ago but the guy was having an op and his balls got trapped. Can't believe anyone these days.
