replacement hyundai coupe key and alarm fob

Wife bought a 07 Hyundai coupe a few weeks back, only has one key and alarm fob.

I called hynundai about getting another set and they quoted aboue 250 all in for it.

I was wondering can i buy them myself and get hyundai to program them for me? or does the transponder chip have to come from the manufacturer already preprogrammed.

When i called hyundai they said theyjust order a key from hyundai and it comes already prechipped and programmed. THey said the alarm fob needs to be programmed by their techies.

Can i buy these 2 and pay hyundai / auto locksmith cut them and marry them to the car?

Not same car but heres my story: I have a 03 a3. was ketting quote for 260e from main stealer. got original key fully working for 160e from collerans in galway. Don't know where you're based but there are alot of places that can do this. I don't know if the ebay thing works. someone else might help you there.

Thanks for that. Yeah i will check a few independent auto locksmiths in the new year, be interesting to hear about the ebay route though
