What do you think of them?

I'm from east donegal in an area called the laggan which has the fabled ulster scots dialect.

When I hear a very broad northern accent I automatically dial the bomb squad. Force of habit.

Our family moved from Derry to Cork when I was a young'un but I retained most of my Norn accent and didn't take on too much of the Cork one.

    Lucky me. :pac:

Moved from South county Derry to county Kildare five years ago, to this day I still get remarks on how my accent hasn't changed.

    It never will!

Be proud of the tin you were baked in!

I always felt the Londonderry accent was pretty much the same throughout

Back in the day two women, one from Donegal and one from Derry, were chatting me up at a bar in Belfast. I find the northern female accent incredibly sexy and passionate - all little northern-accented Maud Gonnes and Constance Markieviczs - but they were hilarious asking me to repeat myself just so they could hear my sweet dulcet mellifluous charming Fenian Free State Mexican tones (not that I'd be prone to overdescriptiveness there!). We were a match made in heaven. Then one of them gave me her number as I had to excuse myself and go back to me bird for de night. Lost her number but that was the first time I realised me accent is fierce sexy altogether. :D

I haven't understood a word of this thread - not even Googles on the interweb can make sense of it.
