Sky +HD box hard drive upgrade

    Hi all.. i'm looking to upgrade my sky hard drive to 1tb or 2tb when the prices come down:) the new boxes are sata so will be compatible. looked at an online guide doesnt look too hard but just wanted to know has anyone here done it? would 5400 or 7200 rpm be more suited? its
    an amstred by the way. THANKS!

    I replaced the drive in my Pace box about 15 months ago. It all went fine. You'll want to use Copy+ to copy over the existing drive if you want to keep your recordings.

    IIRC some boxes won't support drives larger than 1.5TB so check that before you buy a new drive.

    Drive speed is not an issue on DVRs as the data transfer rates are very low so go with whichever one is cheaper. Reliability is a big thing though so be careful there.
